COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saint Andre is made with a blend of five specialty malts imported from Belgium. These help to create a smooth, complex character which is balanced by a crisp hop flavour. The result is a remarkably drinkable beer that celebrates the best Europe has to offer. Lager in The Bohemian style. Note: Brewed by Doug Pengelly of Ste. Andre at the Stratford Brewing facility.

On tap at C’est What. Aroma of grains, and almost no hop bitter. light body, good carbonation. Lightly sweet flavours of biscuity malts and slight hop bitter. Well made, true to style.

Draught at C’est What, Toronto
Amber color; creamy head. Very light aroma. Some caramel flavor, light, but too dry; there is a light breadish note and maybe some metal; correct bitterness.
Boring.

On tap. Light clear mahogany with off white head. Lots of malt, sweet, bit of plum. Moderate carbonation, mild body, malty and a bit of dough on the palate, bit cloying on the finish.

Pours an amber colour with a copper hue. The head is big, lightly beige, has good retention and gives out foamy lacing. Malty nose with caramel and mild roasted ones. The taste is a little weird though. First sip is kind of gross, but then, it gets a bit better. Watery caramel malt with hints of nuts in the finish. Seems like they toned down the hop since the last reviews. I taste nothing there. Not one I would have again.

Ordinaire.

Darker golden colour, noble hop aromas, nice bitter hop flavour. A very rich lager. I’ve only had it at C’est What; some of my friends love craft beer but some of my friends don’t care for ales. So if this were available on draft more often we’d always get pitchers of this.

Bottle. Brownish amber pour. Soft tan head. Malty aroma is leafy and roasted caramel malt, a little bit of oak and grass. Nice creamy mouthfeel. A bit too sweet throughout, but nice malty backbone with a grassy clean finish. Not bad.

Pours an amber brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and toffee. Taste is toffee, and a strong malted core. Good beer.
