3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KyotoLefty (4727) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 20, 2008
On tap at the Beer Bistro in Toronto.
Rich amber color, with lots of red, lovely. Rich, nutty aroma with fruit and lots of caramel. Flavor very nutty and grainy, with milk, cherries, caramel, and toffee. Dryish finish but the malt keeps working. Nice.

The aroma is malty, with a touch of hops. Copper, medium vanilla head. Fine malty presence, some nuttiness. Creamy with good bitterness, nicely balanced. A delicious Vienna Lager.

Tap at Beer Bistro. Rich copper-coloured beer with a thick creamy off-white head. Softly toasted malt aroma over a very clean base. A whiff of toast and soft floral hops as well. Flavour is very well-balanced. Soft maltiness with a crisp, clean finish. Lingering breadiness. It’s a very well-made, quaffable take on this style.

Draft @ Beer Bistro, Toronto. Pours a amber color. Pretty simple beer but a nice session beer. Smooth drinking malty offering. Very slight bitterness. Little light in the body department but a decent beer.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DerWeg (1393) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 1, 2008
Cool-brewed version on draught at C’est What, Toronto. I found the original Guelph beer very good with an almost ale-like softness and easeful coating of the mouth. A recent six-pack (2006?) was like drinking mildly-flavored water. This pint was far better. I liked the texture, the slightly nutty/sweet flavor and the restrained hops. Good session beer.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 cyrenaica (941) - Milton, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2008
341ml bottle
4.6% ABV
I tried this beer on January 18, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto. The beer poured a translucent red with a thin white head which disappears quickly. The aroma is malty and grassy. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with low carbonation. The flavour was slightly sweet, a little malt, and a lot of grass!

Tap - Beer bistro - Copper brown colour, medium off white head, Hop and vanilla aroma, malt and bitter hop flavour, some sweetness too. Mild sweet finish - Meh! nothing special
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JesseM (1099) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 6, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2009 Well I finally got around to trying this one. Man, I wish I hadn’t waited so long to find out what a down-right delicious brew it is! The only other Vienna I’ve ever had was Brooklyn Lager, and I was not impressed at all, in fact I greatly disliked it, so I became a little hesitant towards the style. But this one has totally changed my perspective on a style that by all logical means I should be in love with. It pours a beautiful copper-ruby colour with a large, sticky, rocky beige head. The aroma, some saaz hops on top of a huge pile of various malts. The flavour, a delicious blend of caramel, munich, bready, biscuity malts, with some great hop bite, not a lot of saaz flavour that I tend to look for, but still very tasty and perfectly balanced. This beer is so tasty and enjoyable, and I love the little historical blurb on the side of the box. Out-standing!

Draught at the beer bistro. Copper amber with little head, reddish in color. Dry malty flavor with a crisp medium body. Can really smell the sweet crystal malts. Some lacing, great for the style.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 OKBeer (1168) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - AUG 22, 2007
341 ml bottle. Orange amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy and rocky off-white head. Honey, lightly grainy, light bread, and velvety caramel aroma. Bready, orange, and lightly grainy flavours with a sweetish, lightly acidic, and lightly spicy finish, plus a very late nutty bitterness. Light bodied but refreshing mouthfeel. Not bad at all.
