COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Balanced toward the hoppy end of the spectrum, this straight-foward, California-style pale is eminently sessionable. Crystal and Munich malts provide a backbone to showcase the bright, citrus, piney notes of Cascade, Chinook, and Simcoe hops.

Can: The aroma consists of moderate citrus, light dank notes, pine, and a hint of caramel. It pours a mostly transparent amber with just a touch of haze. It has a two finger white head that eventually fades to a thick film. There is some sporadic soapy lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate citrus and faint fruit. There is a hint of caramel way in the background. The finish has moderate grapefruit and light pine. It’s medium bodied with moderate-lively carbonation. At times, it can feel a bit prickly. Overall, a solid Pale Ale, but the carbonation is a little high for my liking.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear straw colored body with a white foam head. Nose of mild lemon and grapefruit. Taste of bready pale malt up front with a hint of caramel sweetness. Moderate pine, citrus and floral hops follow with just enough bitterness to balance. Finishes dry. The result is a very tasty and easy to drink American Pale.

Pour on tap at Woodman, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, bread, some hints of nice pine, grass, herbal notes into a bit of dank in there, touch of citrus. Taste is a mix of citrus, grass, bread, some nice resinous into some pine, finishing fairly bitter.

maekchu (2453) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 1, 2015
Can from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Piney hop nose, some citrus, with tropical fruit. Dark amber color, thinwhite head, some lace. Citrus/pine hop initial, caramel behin it in mid palate and final. Medium-thin body, with some hop texture. Simcoe and Cascade bomb the nose. Hopping also dominates the flavor. Fun stuff, but it is definitely way overhopped.

Pours a finger of head on a clear straw colored body. The aroma is loaded with citrus: lemon and grapefruit mostly, and a little pine. The taste is balanced. Great malt profile with the bitterness taking over halfway through. Lots of citrus here too. The texture is crisp. Nice.
