Balanced toward the hoppy end of the spectrum, this straight-foward, California-style pale is eminently sessionable. Crystal and Munich malts provide a backbone to showcase the bright, citrus, piney notes of Cascade, Chinook, and Simcoe hops.

Hazy golden pour at The Beer Company. Head disappears. Faint citrus aroma. Taste is malt and some hop astringency. Watery finish. I had hoped for better.

Appearance: A bright, light golden color with an average tight-bubble head. Smell: I initially got an off smell. Sweaty sock. Hmmm. But then I got more citrus and specifically orange aromas. Taste: It was tough for me to get past the initial off smell, but my palate adjusted and the taste evened out. Mouthfeel: Medium to Light body, on spec for a Pale Ale. Drinkability: This one has some hop bite, but the off smell killed my enjoyment. Hopefully just an off bottle. Iíll give any local brewery a second chance so I still look forward to my next Saint Archer.

650ml bottle pours a golden color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is pine and grapefruit with some grainy malts. Taste is a bold grapefruit and pine hop bitterness with an underlying malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with carbonation typical for this style. This is essentially a pale ale with IPA hop profile. Very bold and tasty.

Poured from a can. Hazy gold with a substantial white head. Citrus with a little pine on the nose. Taste is a little light, but not too bad. A lingering aftertaste of grapefruit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from 16th street Liquor, West Vancouver
Hazy golden clor with medium sized head. The aroma is very piney, a bit fruity, with hints of freshly cut wood. The mouthfeel is very dry, maybe too much, giving some astringency and paper from the beginning; the malt profile is weak, just an impression of toffee; strong bitterness, a bit resiny, almost not fruity.
Itís a bit extreme in itís accent; drinkable but not spectacular.

Aroma is yeast, citrus, fruit and mild/medium dank/grassy hops. The flavor is citrus, fruit/mild sugar/sweetness, malts and a dry and bitter/slightly tangy finish.

Cask@Holland Tringham JDW, Streatham - golden pour with medium white head. Citrus fresh fruity aroma and taste, plenty of pine, mandarin nuances, grassy, some biscuity malt backbone, great condition (something you donít always get at a spoons)
