COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale. It has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. A complex hop aroma, with a hint of floral and citrus comes from a combination of Cascades and Liberty hops. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Amber Ale is best consumed at 50 - 55° Fahrenheit.

On tap @ Cat Cora’s Kitchen in Houston Airport Terminal E. Not very dark for an amber! And not very toasty or carsmrlized either. Hmmmm.. This is a grainy bland lager all the way. WTF? I asked a different server and they confirmed this beers identity, so I’m scoring it on that basis. How do you make an amber ale suck even more? Make it a lager! Boo. 2.0

On tap at Black Gold bar, Omni Hotel in Houston. Pours average amber color with quickly dissipating head. Aroma is caramel malts with hints of apple cider, some subtle spice presence as well. Taste is slightly sweet with string caramel and toffee flavors. Some toast notes as well. Body is shockingly thick, solid presence on the palate and well carbonated. I like it.

from my good bud Marshall - Clear medium amber with only a rim head and no lace. Not much to look at, but all is good with the drink. Taste begins with butter rum malt, grows neatly through the palate to a light, but certain hop bitter in the finish. Not your typical amber, but a winner in its own right.
