COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale. It has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. A complex hop aroma, with a hint of floral and citrus comes from a combination of Cascades and Liberty hops. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Amber Ale is best consumed at 50 - 55° Fahrenheit.

Pours copper with a film of white head. Does leave some lacing. Aroma is faint nuttiness. Taste is some hop bitterness upfront with a hint of caramel. Aftertaste is nutty. Not bad overall.

Very light golden-orange pour into glass with tiny head. Aroma is bread-like, if you can smell it at all. Body its medium-light with a citrus bready taste.

Quite a ’light’ beer. Not heavy at all on the palate with a good clean slightly bitter finish and aftertaste. Very easy on my drinkability scale; which means most folks can enjoy a few without getting blitzed too quickly. One enjoyable feature was the nutty-caramel aroma and flavor that this brew offered up. Wouldn’t be a bad brew to have at the BBQ or fish fry.

Bottle - pours medium gold with a white head. Has an aroma of dry grass and an initial taste of grapefruit. Finishes with a medium thin mouthfeel and light hop bitterness.

Floral hops, malts, and a hint of metal in the nose, and more pronounced malt backbone and floral hops in the mouth. Neither the aroma nor the taste are particularly assertive, but the taste is more pleasant.

Bottle. Aroma is almost non-existent. Slight bread and malt, but so hard to detect. Pours pretty, with nice fluffy head. But color is a distinct gold...needs to be a hue darker to be a proper "amber".

These imperfections aside, taste is well balanced. A nice tasty malt flavor, with a a subtle fruity twang. Good hop counterbalance.

8.19.2011 Houston, TX -- Art Noveau On Tap Not a whole lo to this beer. Decent palate and easy to drink. Good football beer.

Poured into a room temp glass and the head is non-existent. It’s like pouring a soda. After pouring in the glass and waiting a minute or two, the color has darkened somewhat after looking like a domestic beer upon pouring. A wheaty aroma that at first is pleasant. But thin of texture to the palate. The flavor is overwhelming and with a harsh flavor of hops and yeast, leaving a slight after taste. As I get to the middle and end of the glass, catching the aroma with each drink doesn’t seem to help anymore with the taste. I can now smell the aroma 5-6 inches away from the glass as I bring it up for a drink. Overall, when I looked at the bottle, I was expecting something unusual and great. But after experiencing this Ale, I’m of the opinion that it is just ok. I’ve taken down the last drink and my nose is curled up from the bitterness.
