this was a fun brew, a wonderful twist on the regular.. . light and quite refined... this could do very very well if put on tap in the early summer .. . thanks brock, keep this funky shit up!

This was a special brew Saint Arnold was testing in Houston; only 4 barrels were made. Draught. Deep cloudy amber color. Has some fruity notes to it. Smooth flavor, but not much of a finish. Best Houston beer I’ve tasted.

On tap at the Flying Saucer Houston. Came out very cold so it had to warm before any flavors came through to the nose. Moderately yeasty nose, "nosey", spicy and a bit musty. Taste comes off like a Belgian single, with a strong yeasty flavor. Alcohol comes through a bit after it warms-but not before. No hints of the St A Amber in this one. This is the same yeast as the Grand Cru at BJ’s. Body is bit thin-but appropriate for this style. This would be a nice summer chiller and a pleasant diversion from the St Arnold family of beers. Here’s to seeing this one come out in bottles.

On tap at Flying saucer. Pours a cloudy amber with a nice, big off-white head. Nose was too subdued, even after it warmed. Aroma was that of Belgian yeast though. Taste of Belgian yeast, banana and spice. Mouthfeel was medium-thin and a bit on the sweet side.

Reviewed 3/3/2009 (Tap at Gingerman, Houston, TX): Pours a cloudy orange colored body, with a big white lasting head. Has a fruity aoma, effervescnt. Somewhat Belgiany nose, but overall, not much aroma. Fruity hefeweizen taste. A heavy palate, a fruity heavy body. Also some banana and light fruit, and pear. A lot of spiciness. Somewhat watery. A little too sweet after a while.
