murawski (158), USA Feb 27, 2007 Very nice Brown Ale (reminded me a lot of the Indian Brown Ale from DogFish Head in Delaware). Great brown sugar aroma, nice amber-brown color, and a solid flavor with some nice complex malts. Overall, above average, and I would recommend this one (if you can find it -- a friend brought this one from Texas).
theisti (1180), Leawood, Kansas, USA Nov 19, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of Zinister. Pour is cloudy brown orange, with a off white head that is thin, and dissapears fast. Aroma of brown sugar sweetness and biscuit maltiness. Taste is caramel, brown sugar, and a slight malt toastiness. Finish has a bit of sharp fruitiness. Overall, a decent brown. Thanks Michael! ilovedarkbeer (844), Dallas, Texas, USA Nov 16, 2008 Amber color with a small off white head. Nose: Caramel, chocolate, milk, smells like chocolate chip cookies. Taste: is creamy and milk with some more chocolate and caramel and a bit of brown sugar. Not bad. unclemike (425), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Oct 17, 2008 This is a pretty good brown, it’s got a northern style to it for sure, which i much prefer. Not as brown as I would expect, it’s more of a light brown with some amber thrown in there. Aroma is caramel malt, somewhat sweet honey smelling. Taste is well balanced i must say. They use a killer yeast on this beer, nice fruity, sweet, and malty. There’s a clean hop finish too. I’m not the biggest brown fan, but this is pretty good.
PilsnerPeter (1631), Flushing, New York, USA Oct 13, 2008 G.A.B.F. 2008: Copper pour with creamy head. The aroma is mildly nutty, along with a hint of sweetness (raisin?) The flavor is a bit sweet. Simple with raisiny notes. A touch of bready malt and not much bitterness to balance. Vague, but OK. BMan1113VR (1162), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Oct 8, 2008 Pours with a quickly vanishing, off-white head that turns into a ring. Hazelnut hued body. Aroma of nuts, maple and toasted malts. Taste is sweet with maple, nuts, and some cardboard. Fizzy, force carbonated and dryish.
