COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, hearty ale perfect for the holiday season with a malty sweetness and spicy hop character. The generous use of five different malts is responsible for the full flavor and high alcohol level of this beer Saint Arnold Christmas Ale is best consumed at 45° Fahrenheit.

Amber with a nice thick head, side by side this is identical to theri brown ale! A rich malty mouthfeel, almost soft and creamy but thick. Some hops at the finish, but still leaves along malty aftertaste.

Glad to see a local brew do well. Not too spicy, but not bland or flat. Has a nice sweet hint to it and a nice dark color.

Bottle. Nice clean orange/amber body with a thin dense off white head. Good bitter flavor on the back end with a big ol’ wallop of malt. Notes of bitter hops, caramel, and chewy malts come out. Not bad. It reminds me of a marzen.

Bottle Pours a clear redish copper witha nice thick light tan head that last quite a while leaving blocky lacing. Having accidentally snorted this beer just nowm, the aromas escape me temproarily... Flavors are very woody, tree bark, fairly sweet and yes the hops are a bit spicy, but only in the background. The 7% is not very ni\oticeable, carbonation is moderate, feel is not very heavy and the finish is a nice dark semi sweet malt flavor. Pretty good. Thanks again to Kaggie97

Small tan head, short lived with little lace. Clear amber colored brew. Grainy, malty nose, lightly spicey. Med/light body, creamy. Medium sweet malt flavors with a mild spice backing. Some hop spiceyness coming through also. Finish is fairly dry, spicey. An OK holiday offering. Thanks Kevin!

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2009 Draught > Flying Saucer. Dark clear amber with no head. Reminds me of a extra malty amber. Some roastiness too. Thin palate. Enjoyable but probably won’t try again. Just too many other better options.

Brown color with fizzy tan head. Aroma of fruity malt with some spiciness. Medium bodied, flavor is slightly toasty, fruity with a bitter spicy somewhat dry finish.

Pours a golden amber hue with a white head. Aromas of copper, herbs, apple. Flavors of light pear, citrus, light bitterness. Apple cider like finish with the spices.

Bottle. Aroma is spicy hops, and a bit of sweet malt. Similar flavor, well balanced with bitter, smooth aftertaste.

A hearty strong ale, but a bit off balance. They need to back off on the hoping a bit, and this coming from an IIPA lover. It adds just a little much to the already very bold malt flavor and alcohol warmth. Pours a deep golden color with a nice white head do the the high carbonation levels, also detracting from the palate. All in all, a good winter warmer, but not balanced well enough.
