COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The color is deep amber with a light, creamy head. The nose starts off with a touch of citrus but then turns decidedly into peaches. The taste starts off with creamy malt resulting from the pale 2 row and caramel malts and Saint Arnold yeast. The hop bitter starts low then builds to a crescendo, but always maintains a balance even in its big finish. The hop flavor continues to be peaches, an interesting manifestation of the Columbus, Simcoe and Centennial hops. This is the first Divine Reserve that we have filtered. This decision was made to make the hop flavors brighter, plus it would have been a bottling nightmare with all the hop bits in it. This beer is best enjoyed at 45° or even a little warmer. Though the recipe and style indicate this beer to be enjoyed fresh, we expect this beer to develop interestingly over the years.

Bomber to glass. Pours a copper color with thin, quick dissipating head. Aroma is slight tropical fruit, with some pine and hay as well. Malty aromas with toast and caramel. Taste is malty, bitter with peach and pineapple and pine notes. Slight sugar presence. Body is medium with medium carbonation. Not bad overall.

Pours clear pale amber with two fingers of rocky white head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Nose is pithy citrus, tropical and stone fruits, mild pine, light caramel malt. (8/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate to strong bitter. (7/10) Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, building bitter finish. (4/5) Very pleasant, mild-mannered and well-behaved DIPA. The sweetness is definitely present, but balanced nicely without being overwhelming. The balance extends to the ABV, which is nearly completely absent despite being nearly into the double digits. Rated from an Endeavour bomber. Orange color with a thin off white head. Nose of citrus and stone fruit and candy. If they made a hop flavored Jolly Rancher candy (and I wish they did) it would taste like this. Lots of sweetness with tons of peach, red grapefruit, apricot, and orange marmalade. Nice balance for such a big beer.

Actual DR11 bottle dug out of the back of the fridge. There’s still one back there so next time I should grab an Endeavour bomber to compare against. Still tastes fresh though I believe the aroma has lost some of its intensity. Pine resin and grapefruit with tropical fruit notes.

sample from bottle at 2014 houston big brew fest. Deep golden with one finger head. Well balanced DIPA. Not particularly unique, but a quality brew nonetheless.

On tap at Munich Tap-House. Clear amber, decent head. Nice citrussy and piney hop nose, good hop bitterness in the mouth. Strangely easy drinking, but nice.

I’m just going to say I’m happy that the folks up at Saint Arnolds made this beer a year round brew. I normally have one with a hearty steak dinner and finish it off with a boiler room Berliner weisse with raspberry tarts for desert
