Bottle shared by CLevar. Pour is honey amber color with a off white head that dissipates to a film. Aroma is dirty pine and funk. Taste is grapefruit and caramel with dirty funk. Palate is medium and sticky with a gritty dry finish.

Clear deep orange brew with a small amount of white head. Aroma is very nice with lots of pine, citrus, and some malty sweetness. Flavor is pretty balanced with a nice bitter finish - grapefruit, herbs, and a bit of peach. Is this yearís DR worthy of all the hype? Probably not. Itís still a very tasty and drinkable DIPA and considerably better than Saint Arnoldís regular brews.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2011 Bottles courtesy ericandersnavy, thanks again. Poured a nice golden orange with very minimal head. The aroma had a nice amount of citrus hops with very little malt detected. The taste was a deal breaker as the beginning had a decent amount of bitter present from the hops but then the malt and alcohol took over. Compared to other DIPAs I would have said the beer was slightly old but this beer is only a few weeks old. It was still fairly easy to drink and not totally off putting with the malt. Iím not sure that I will put any away for later as I highly doubt the flavor will become anymore "interesting" than it currently is. (At least for my palate.)

Golden copper peach in color. Kind of a biscuity aroma with some citrus. Its almost like lemon scones. Nice! Immediate upfront pine and citrus bitterness with a touch of aspirin in the aftertaste. Overall, very tasty and drinkable immediately as opposed to SAís usual MO releasing the beer then consumers hold the DRs for a few months to let the flavor develop. Solidly brewed...

A nice amber color with a decent head. A sweet taste of fruits fills your first sip with a bitter ending. I had this during American Craft Beer Week and enjoyed it a lot. Good IPA!

Bottle thanks to Caleb! Nice dark orange amber pour with nice stark white head. Aroma has notes of big citrusy oils with grapefruit and orange, lemon, leading into notes of sweet toffee and slight spice notes. Taste is nice sweet tropical fruit with some peach notes, grapefruit, leading into toffee and bready notes with a nice bitter, oily slightly piny after taste. Nice balanced double IPA, leaning towards the sweet side so reminiscent more of a barley wine. Delicious brew nonetheless.

12 ounce thanks to Blutt59. Very strong pine and bitter aroma followed by the same taste. Grapefruit dominates. Alcohol present.

Thanks to my mother-in-law for buying me a case. Thanks to KAggie for shipping it to me. Pours a light amber, clear with a whispy white head. Not much lacing. Aroma of sticky citrus and vanilla. Flavor is a little strong and a little sweet. Not overly sweet. Tons of hop flavor. Nice balance between the bitter hops and sticky sweetness. Bitter finish lingers. Actually, a pretty darn good DIPA.
