This beer was inspired by David Rogers’ winning entry in the 2011 Big Batch Brew Bash homebrew competition. The color is orangy amber with a light, creamy head. The nose has rich malt notes and a little alcohol that combines with a spicy hop note to create a complex bouquet. The taste has a spicy, malty beginning that smoothes out into a creamy middle and a warming finish. While this beer is enjoyable now, it is designed to be aged and will shine after a year or more in the bottle. This will allow sherry flavors to develop as the alcohol oxidizes. It is also important to allow this beer to warm up so that all of the flavors emerge and round out the high alcohol level.

A: Some fruity notes with a lot of caramel flavors. Light estery notes with hints of clove and banana. A: Pours a somewhat murky amber-caramel color with a thin ring of foam. T: Follows the nose with some toffee, oak, spices, very very mild dark fruits, alcohol and vanilla with a slight bitter hop note that just pulls away the nice sweetening flavors. P:Medium-light mouth-feel with a full alcohol warmth and just a hint of bitterness. O: Drinks like a mild Old Ale, especially for a 10% ABV, which qualifies it as a full SNIPER. Sweet, as to be expected but nothing earth-shattering.

Bottle shared at Kenny’s 20k tasting - London. Cheers to Mitch his self for this beer. Pours clearish gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds light citrus, suggestions of oxidation, pale bread. Medium to heavy sweet flavour, lightly syrupy, with some doughy bread and notable alcohol. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish, sugary, with hot alcohol notes, peach, general citrus fruits, more pale bread. Just OK overall.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks Caleb! Dark brownish red pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, toffee, caramel, hints of molasses into a bit of spice, touch of spice and yeasty notes with some toasted bread as well. Taste was a mix of bread, cocoa, toast into a bit of caramel, toffee, molasses, some dark fruit into a bit of slight oak, vanilla, finishing fairly sweet. Pretty tasty.
