COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The aroma is distinctly Belgian and has a hint of fruit. As with most Belgian beers, the hops are primarily used for bitterness and provide little to no flavor or aroma. We kept the malt bill relatively simple to allow each malt to come through in its own way without getting all muddled together. The caramel and chocolate malts, in particular, work well together and you can taste each of them in the beer. We also added a large amount of Belgian Extra Dark Candi Syrup during fermentation, which darkened the color, imparted dark fruit-like flavors, and boosted the alcohol. Despite its high strength though, the alcohol only comes out as a warmth on the back end but is not over powering. The aftertaste is slightly sweet but also has a dryness that makes you want more.

A: Inviting with the alcohol clearly there, but buried in Belgian candi sugar aroma rich with dark fruit notes such as black cherry, plum and raisin, and a good balance of sweetness and maltiness. A: Pours a dark brown, almost blood-burgundy color with little to no head. T: A light yeast character, lighter than the nose. Alcohol not as noticeable as in the nose. Toaste malt and baked bread notes although the dark fruits are much more apparent. Figs, plums, maybe even chocolate covered cherries. P: Perhaps just a touch thin, but medium carbonation and a medium body. O: As a major fan of all things Belgian, I have had a great many quads, including a great many American-brewed quads. I think this is probably the best American quad I have ever had.

(22oz bomber) clear dark burgundy, fine tan bubbles. Nose of dark candi sugar, peach, caramel, very Belgian, spiced. Taste of dark Belgian candi sugar, odd saccharin taste, weird but good.

What an amazing bottle. Aroma is dark fruits, candied sugar, and chocolate bread. Pours deep mahogany with minimal tan head and lacing. Taste is just perfect. Pumpkin bread crust, brown sugar, dates, figs, raisins, and a big chocolate malt behind it. Just delicious and insanely addictive. I wanted more right away. Can’t recommend this one enough to anyone.

Pours almost a brown color with off-white head. Dark fruits, alcohol, sweetness, and some yeast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes sweet. Gets better with age.

Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a clarified mahogany hue, with a modest, diminishing layer of off white head foam, and spotty lacing. The nose was caramel & sweetness, with esters of plum & cherry. Ditto on the taste, with syrupy texture, medium body, moderate hop bitterness, and decent enough carbonation to convey the flavor notes. Alcohol warmth was most evident toward the finish. Quite tasty!

Bottle. Pours a dark red-brown with hints of almost magenta; the head is fine-grained, tan, lacy, and thin. Nose is chocolate, caramel, dates, toffee, fig, and a touch of mushroom. Very rich and sweet, with notes of barley syrup, coffee, and milk chocolate; there’s a bourbon booziness undertone that adds a nice warming note. Finish is long, warm, and elegantly smooth. Quite nice, and probably has a few more years of aging potential in it.

Another 12 oz. bottle shared by Phatdog1, this brewery is hitting home runs tonight! Nice sampling of three different in the Devine series. Dark ruby color with no head. Aroma is fruity Belgian yeast, figs, and thick sugary cola.

Sweet and fruity flavor. Candi syrup upfront followed by fruity, yeasty hints and burnt sugar. Caramelized malts and a large dark fruit profile. Soft carbonation leading into a syrupy sweet finish. It really could use more bitterness to help with the balance of the rich malts. Pretty much exactly as the brewers description informs you this brew will be. Still after 6 oz. of this beer I really liked sipping it. Solid

Bottle poured dark cola brown in color with a thin covering of tan head that fell off to a ring. Aroma has dark candi sugar, dark fruit, minerals, and dark fruit. Mouth feel is medium light and there is low carbonation. Flavor follows along with the nose, dark fruits, fig, very little yeast influence, and dark sugar into the finish.

12 ounce bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks! Pours a clear dark ruby color with a thin frothy tam head. Decent head retention. Fruity aroma with notes of plum, stone fruits, candied citrus along with some mild caramel and brown sugar. The taste is Twizzlers candy, anise, spice, bread, stone fruits, berries, caramel. Medium bodied, slight booze.
