COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewer Casey Motes’ Description: The goal of this beer was to make a Belgian/American hybrid using west coast American hops and rye to emulate the fruit and spices often found in Belgian beers. The beer pours a bright golden color. The nose is a mixture of phenolics from the Belgian wit yeast and light citrus from the American hops with a touch of graininess. Rye adds sweetness and complexity to the pilsner and aromatic malts. The spice of the rye is somewhat subdued at lower temperatures but becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Cascade and centennial hops were used for both flavor and aroma, adding floral and citrus notes to play off the strengths of the yeast. Belgian candi sugar was added during fermentation to bump up the alcohol while allowing the beer to avoid finishing too sweet. The dry finish hides the 10% alcohol nicely and makes you want to take another sip. This beer is best enjoyed at 50°F to 55°F. Pours a bright golden amber color. There’s a small head that dissipates rather quickly, then leaves a circle of white tiny foam around the rim of the glass. The aroma is lemon zest, a grassy note, some light grains, and a slight dirt aroma. The flavor is yeasty and spicy. The rye really pushes to the front. I poured it somewhat warm, and as it warmed even more the spiciness was prominent. Not really a fan.

A sweet malty aroma teams up with hints of Belgian yeast, bananas, and spice. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a white ring and minimal lacing. The taste is balanced toward the malty side of the flavor spectrum. Complex malt tastes become more apparent as the beer warms. Bananas, cloves, and a polite sweetness. Medium body with medium carbonation. Satisfying mouthfeel. Overall, I enjoyed this beer and think its a good example of a Belgian Strong Ale (Dubble).

Bottle thanks to Rightcross55 I believe. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a small head that fades to a thin ring. Aromas are Belgian yeast, rye grain, and light banana. Tastes sugary sweet with lots of Belgian yeast. Spicy rye shows up big in the finish with some light juicy citrus as well. Medium body. Overall, it’s too sugary for me to love but the spicy rye and citrus hops make this somewhat unique.

Pours a beautiful gold with the traditional Belgian strong ale aromas. Didn't pick up on the spice but there was a good depth of sweetness, bubblegum, apple juice and a hint of alcohol to finish.

Golden color with minimal white head. Potent phenolic yeast aroma. Heavy mouthfeel with spicy notes. I wanted to rate this a little higher but the individual elements just didn’t full come together for me the way I had hoped.

22 oz bottle. Clear brassy orange with an off-white head. Nose is candi, yeast, clove and golden raisin. Slick and sticky medium body with a tang. Taste is candi, clove, etc., like the nose. A bit medicinal with bubblegum but still a competent Belgian strong.

12 oz bottle shared by my buddy Gianni. Aroma has some clove, and plenty of yeast esters present. Lightly spicy with some metallic hints. Light band-aid, too. Transparent golden body with a small, quickly dissipating whitish head present. Starts with some sweet toffee, banana, and yeast esters. Light dustiness and cobwebs in the middle. Lightly grassy hop finish. Ethanol, for the most part, is fairly well-hidden. Meh, pretty straight-forward.

Bottle from Kroger. Pours a light copper with a thin white head. The aromas are caramel, herbs, light citrus. The mouthfeel is dry, slightly sweet and has a medium body and good carbonation. Cheers!

Banana, bubblegum, citrus, clove Good interpretation of a Belgian classic. Beautiful golden color Smooth on the palate and hides the 10% abv nicely

Golden brew that smells of spice and hay. Taste was very pepperish, almost too much spice flavors going on making it not so easy to drink. Glad to say that after a few drinks the spice became more tollerable and overall turned into a pretty decent brew.

Pours golden, fine lacing. Pepper and honey on the nose. Rye, Belgian yeast, cherry cough drop on the tongue, mild tartness. Finish is dried citrus fruit, spicy, medicinal, lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
