Draught from promo keg at the Gingerman Pub in Ft. Worth, TX. "Lucky" enough I was in Texas for this release. Also glad to see that other raters have a similar description of this unique barley wine. A great, hoppy barley wine that was not overdone in the sweet/syrupy department. Perfectly hopped, never overpowering in flavour or aroma. Once again, not your typical barleywine but what a great, easy drinking brew. Who would have thought you would ever call a barley wine refreshing?

Aug 15, 2008 (12oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Creamy and small off-white head atop lightly hazed copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin/plum, grapefruit, orange. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, plum, grapefruit, some pine, light orange. Medium-full body. Big but definitely not overpowering.

Aug 14, 2008 12 oz bottle from Emacgee, thanks! Hazy amber in color with a medium long lasting off white head- nice lacing. Aroma of strong citrus and earthy hops, with a hint of the big caramel malt backbone behind it. Taste: a very assertive, hoppy barleywine- lots of citrus and earth, lightly floral, with a nice full caramel and dark fruit body. Bitterness lingers for quite awhile. Nice american BW.

Aug 14, 2008 Bottle. Amber dark, with medium beige head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine caramel, very hoppy. Flavor is similar, with dark fruits, very hoppy. Grassy aftertaste, very sharp.
