Commercial Description:
This is a dark, slightly chocolatey weizenbock with an undercurrent of bananas and cloves. There is a slight spiciness from the hops and a balanced malt that hides the strength of the beer. It was brewed with Dark Wheat, Light Wheat, Chocolate Wheat, Pilsner, Munich, Special B and Chocolate malts and Northern Brewer hops. We used a traditional Bavarian hefeweizen yeast which gives the beer its distinctive clove and banana character. It is unfiltered. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer. We are curious to see how this beer will age.

Pours a very dark brown with tan head. Spicy aroma with a flavor of cherries, milk chocolate, and fruits.

Called it on the style. Wheat character is similar to NG Black Wheat-has that distinct, and awesome NG wheat character. Although that is just one small portion of a very busy beer. That wheat business works well with some mellow silty chocolate and a nice muted, yet complex malt flavor.

Bottle. Thanks to MaltOMeal for the bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber/brown color with a small off-white head. Has a wheat malty spicy fruity aroma. Sweetish wheat malty spicy flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a dry bitter wheat malty finish.

Waxed 12 oz bottle. I don’t recall who sent this to me, but THANKS! Dark brown, almost black pour with a tight, thin, beige head. Big nutty nose, some chocolate and caramel with an underlying fruitiness. Roasty chocolate flavors, something fruity late, burnt wheat and toffee. Damned interesting brew!

bottles from rustychiles and the bman. pours a rather porter-esque colored hazy ruby brown with a giant orange tinted brown head. it smells a lot like leavened cinnamon raisin bread... along with earthy spices, some banana and a touch of chocolate. the flavor is pretty much the same with the addition of some toasted nuts, caramel and coffee on the finish (and lingering aftertaste). it is a touch too sweet. medium bodied with a creamy mouth feel that begins to feel flat on the tongue as it warms. 7/4/7/3/15/3.6

bottle. tastes like a combo of tart watermelon rind and caramel cream. ..weird but strangely drinkable

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Thanks once again man! Pours a dark reddish brown with a tan head that couldn’t hang around. Roasted malt and mixed chocolate and fruit aspects. Rather full bodied with moderate carbonation. Flavor is dark fruit and chocolate. Maybe a tad nutty. Though it feels syrupy, it’s more dry than not. I think it gets a bit coffeeish with time. Very interesting beer.

Thank you daknole for the 12oz bottle, no date. Hazy brown with a one finger beige head, fair retention. This smells more like a dunkelweizen--light roast and toasted malts with some banana yeast. The flavor gets a little lemony sour tang which didn’t fit me at all--kinda nasty, actually. Light buttery diacetyl shows up eventually, as well. Burps bubblegum. Earthy bitter finish peaking at a 3. Moderate carbonation with a medium full body. Not my favorite.

Bottle received from BMan113VR. Pours dark brown with an average, frothy, light brown head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, cookie, nutty), light hop (dry grass), average yeast (dough, broth) with notes of banana, clove, and maple syrup. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.
