A nice Wee Heavy with just enough smoked character to be enjoyable... probably less smoke character than many would like, but a little goes a long way for me. Some caramel notes from the malts and a bit of, something... a spicyness I can’t really place. Just enough sweetness to round out the experience. A well made beer.

12 oz. bottle from ericandersnavy- thanks again, Eric! Pours a hazy amber color with a tiny off-white head that settles into a lasting ring. Aroma of dust, cardboard, wood, peanut brittle, brown sugar, dates, and earth. Flavor of caramel, brown sugar, peat, wood, earth, figs, and dates. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, boozy mouthfeel and low carbonation. A bit past its prime, but solid.

Notes from my backlog: Deep hazy amber with a creamy tan head. Richly malty. Some toasted toffee, almost chocolaty with a sweet vanilla hint, tobacco and ginger snap cookies. Complex nose. Creamy body- richly malty. Toffeeish and toasted spices flavors, mild tobacco and dries out with a graham cracker note and biscuit. Nice malt depth. Awesome.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, reddish color with a light tan head. Chunks and floaties abound. Rich aroma of caramel, slight apple, and spice. Medium mouth feel. Sweet, slightly smokey flavor. Lots of caramel in the back end. No real evidence of the alcohol at this point. Smoke note lingers slightly.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks Amy! Dark reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma has notes of smoke, caramel, toffee hints of dark fruits, touch of molasses and more fruit, very rich. Taste is sweet caramel, molasses, burnt sugars, dark fruits, slight smoke, hints of grass and earth, finishing fairly sweet.

Bottle. Thanks BMan. Clear deep golden brown with a short lived fizzy of white head. Strong peated scotch aroma and taste with smokey bready and toffee notes.
