Homefront IPA is an IPA first brewed by Fremont Brewing Company and major league pitcher Chris Ray. It is brewed to benefit Operation Homefront an organization that provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. The beer is a drinkable West Coast IPA. It pours a golden amber with a big white head. It has a big citrusy nose with a slight note of fresh oranges. Malty and sweet up front. Lighter bodied than might be expected. The hop bitter, orange peel and hop flavor seem to all kick in at the finish. Remarkably easy to drink for an IPA with the orange notes more of a secret ingredient than a dominant flavor. Quite thirst quenching making it perfect for enjoying during Memorial Day weekend. Consume this beer fresh as the hop flavor is best enjoyed this way.
This beer was brewed with pale and caramel malts, Chinook and Cascade hops, orange peel and orange zest, and last but not least, 6 maple Louisville sluggers in the bright beer tank.

Rated based on notes taken on 21 Jun 2012 -- Poured from the bomber into a pint glass. Great Aroma, mild hop flavor backed by good malt and a crisp finish. A keeper!

I'm not a big IPA fan, but I enjoyed this one. Not super bitter. Citrus up front is apparent. Bitter finish of course but great with spicy food. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Pours a pale orange gold with a large creamy off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is floral hops and citrus. Thin mouthfeel with a light bitter hop with grapefruit and orange flavor. Easy to drink with very smooth IPA. Really enjoyed this one, kudos to Brock and the boys at Saint Arnold for putting this together for a real great cause.

From bottle. Hazy light copper with minimal white head. Good lacing. Nose is grass and grapefruit. Bitter up front with a slightly sweet, lingering finish. Another winner from Saint Arnold.

Pours light amber with a think three finger head. Head is comprised of frothy thick bubbles. Not as creamy as other beers. Appears highly carbonated. Pine and grapefruit hops on the nose. You can really smell the sluggers! (kidding) Nice crisp and clean hops on the flavor. Finishes bitter. Little malt presence, which is actually nice. Very hop forward beer, but not overpowering.

Aroma is hoppy and sweet. Redish, golden tint. Taste great. Hits you with a roasty hops flavor with hints of citrus. Smooth in the palate, I recommend trying this beer. Itís limited supply lends to the overall experience

From a trade with Errl! Thanks, Chris! Thought this would be pretty good but this really exceeded expectations. Huge fruity Juicy Fruit nose that faded to honey and floral hops but keep nice fruity notes. Clear, medium to full bodied light orange gold. Incredibly balanced flavors, not bitter, not malty sweet, just right. One of the best IPAs Iíve had all year.

Golden-orange color with a thick white head. Very strong citrus aroma with pine and resin hops also. Moderate caramel malt sweetness with a fairly potent bitterness on the palate. On the stronger end of the IPA style verging towards DIPA territory. Good beer.

22 oz. Bottle. Trade from Jamil. Sweet citrus, candied grapefruit, hop scent with caramel. Translucent bronze pour with a white foamy head to ring. Light/medium bodied, silky texture. Sweet candied grapefruit to bitter pine hop taste.

Dry, earthy and mildly floral hops, pepper, caramelized sugar, malts, citrus (orange, grapefruit), nuts, and herbal undertones in the aroma. The taste is hoppy bitter with a sweet, malty background. Sleek mouthfeel, with a medium-to-light body and low carbonation. The malts really balance things out and make it very tasty and drinkable--love it.
