2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle:   Little sparce off-white head, with little lacing.   Pretty much soft toasted malts, perhaps a little roasty.   Coming across as a Blackbier already.   A little lighter on the tongue than expected, well in
terms of roastiness anyway.   Has this soft grassiness with a very very pale toasted malt character.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   More roast builds towards the finish.   Seems more grassy, not as bright as others.
Obviously its darker and roastier, which isnt a bad thing.   Kudos for something new, but not sure its what I would seek out again.   Thanks for the bottle Bill!

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. Poured a dark reddish amber with a frothy tan head. Malty aroma and taste. They achieved their goal; I would love some enchiladas with this.

Had it out of a bottle, poured a dark brown color with a yellow head and even lacing. The aroma was a Budweiser disguised as a dark beer, the taste was very watery.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - FEB 18, 2013
This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of foamy medium sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated slightly hazy dark yellow colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was hoppy malty yeasty and banana. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow malty aftertaste. The deep flavor contained notes of yeast banana hops and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

Dark muddy blackish color. Very little aroma. Taste was surprisingly good. Smooth and full bodied with no aftertaste. Carbonation was perfect. Nice beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 onceblind (2535) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 1, 2013
Clear dark brown with a thin head. Roasty nose kinda like burnt popcorn but not so bad, with a biscuity malty sweetness, and a roasty earthiness. Lightish body but balanced and well rounded flavor, kinda biscuit and crackery with an earthy sweetness and some Kolsh-like maltiness and bitterness. Like a sweet and roasty well-made Kolsh. Amazing.
3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Stevesie (202) - - DEC 30, 2012
Received a six pack as a gift. Wasn’t encouraged by the description of a black malt Kolsch, but was pleasantly surprised. Smooth, clean and very drinkable. Some day I will learn to not doubt Saint Arnold.
