COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An authentic, German-style Bock, celebrating the coming of spring. This strong, deeply flavored lager has been aged to create a smooth, malty taste with a hint of sweetness. A light addition of German hops balances the malt flavor. Saint Arnold Spring Bock is best consumed at 40į Fahrenheit.

Location: Draft at Ginger Man - Houston, 2/11/14

Aroma: The aroma is toffee, caramel, and bread, with a little bit of a floral/grassy hop
Appearance: This one pours a clear amber-orange, with a frothy beige head and good lace
Flavor: The taste is rich and malty with a light hop backbone to it
Palate: The body is medium, with average carbonation, and a light dry finish
Overall Impression: First spring beer of the (way before) season! Itís 35 in Houston today for heavenís sake, drinking a spring beer just seems wrong. Anyway, I thought this was a pretty flavorful example of the style. It isnít an amazing beer, but it isnít half bad either.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, brown sugar and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, brown sugar and light earthiness with a smooth lingering carmel finish.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful copper color with an off white, fairly quickly receding head. Nose is light caramel, light toffee, light leather. Flavor is toffee, caramel, toast, with a somewhat biscuity finish. On the sweeter side, could be a tad dryer. Pleasant carbonation.

Central Market bottle. From my experience with maibocks (which is not much) this seemed pretty true to form. They always seem to be a little alcohol forward; this one included. Good but this is not really my style.
