3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, from BMart, poured into a snifter. Pours clear copper with small off-white head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is caramel malt, medium body, low carbonation, and very little lacing. Taste is caramel malt with balancing hops. Easy to drink for a bock, pretty dark for a heller.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Copper brown in the glass, the beer starts malty and slightly sweet. Highly drinkable. The mainpart is nice malty-sweet with hints of bitterness without beeing to sweet-sticky. Dark fruit, a bit viscous and still highly drinkable. Not really a Heller Bock - the taste is more like a Dunkler Bock. The aftertaste is long, smooth, malty-crisp and dry with hints of sweetness, molasses, plums. Nice!
A very nice and good Bockbier! --> 13/12/13/13

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: Draft at Ginger Man - Houston, 2/11/14
Aroma: The aroma is toffee, caramel, and bread, with a little bit of a floral/grassy hop
Appearance: This one pours a clear amber-orange, with a frothy beige head and good lace
Flavor: The taste is rich and malty with a light hop backbone to it
Palate: The body is medium, with average carbonation, and a light dry finish
First spring beer of the (way before) season! It’s 35 in Houston today for heaven’s sake, drinking a spring beer just seems wrong. Anyway, I thought this was a pretty flavorful example of the style. It isn’t an amazing beer, but it isn’t half bad either.
