An authentic, German-style Bock, celebrating the coming of spring. This strong, deeply flavored lager has been aged to create a smooth, malty taste with a hint of sweetness. A light addition of German hops balances the malt flavor. Saint Arnold Spring Bock is best consumed at 40° Fahrenheit.

Had on tap at Jack Mac’s in Dallas. Pours amber with a thin persistent off white head. Aroma is malty and toffee, with a very slight roastiness. Flavor follows and is fairly sweet. Overall, nice beer.

Light booze; spicy, earthy hops; ink; and cereal in the nose. The mouthfeel is oily and slow, with medium viscosity and prickly carbonation. The taste is boozy/malty bitter up front, with spicy hops taking the lead towards the middle and a whisper of toffee towards the end, for an otherwise dry and mineraly finish. Serviceable, but not my thing.

Rated on 02-18-2013 at Saint Arnold B.C. The appearance of this draft beer is a small beige head with a long retention, transparent amber body and fast rising carbonation. The aroma is caramel malt, sweet and light hops. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is light bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink, but a bit on the light side for the style.

Wasn’t too crazy about this brew. had it with spicy spicy crawfish so I think that had something to do with it. Gonna give it another try next spring lol

Sample at Cock & Bull Pub in Sarasota. Clear pale reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, fruit and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, fruit and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Cloudy orange/amber with a small white head. Light malt aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet. Could really use more malt depth in the flavor to be a real top notch Bock, but certainly a drinkable beer. Thanks to crajun for this one!

Pours a clear amber color with white head. Cereal grain, caramel malt, and some light hops on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes sweet.

Bottle, 355ml. Pours clear copper with a modest offwhite head. Aroma is of dry fruits, caramel, roasted malt and perhaps some slight sourness. Medium body and carbonation. Rich and warming finish, though not very bitter, instead focusing on the roasted character.

Bottle, 355ml. A dark orange beer with a head that fades away almost immediatly. It has a medium aroma and I’ve been told this is how a bock is supposed to smell. Taste is bitter and it has a medium alcohol finish. Maybe at the end is also a little bit watery.
