crizay (1056), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Mar 4, 2008 lb4lb. Clear amber pour with medium white head. Aroma is nutty with a hint of caramel. Flavor is nutty, caramel, and lots of floral hops, and bready malts also. Slightly sweet with just a hint of hops. Thin bodied though and a little too watery.
jsquire (1811), St. Marys, Ohio, USA May 9, 2008 Clear amber color with a two finger off white head that audibly shrank to nothing. Sweet grain nose with some hair spray. Sweet beer with some pit fruit, caramel, and a toasted grain note. Not sure what a Heller bock is, but this is okay enough. stefanje (385), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA May 9, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of zinister. Poured a copper color with a medium beige head that dissipated quickly. The aroma was distinct with sweet malts and vanilla. The flavor is malts forward with more of the same malt character as in the nose. Also present in the flavor are vanilla, berries and almonds. The mouthfeel is full and malty with lively carbonation. The finish is medium in duration and is a bit dry. Overall: A fairly good Heller IMO, this beer goes down easy. Braudog (3453), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates May 4, 2008 Bottle, courtesy of Brandon Orr. Reddish amber with a thin top. Musty, wheaty, malty aroma. Smooth malty drinker with just a slight hoppy bite. Easy to drink session beer. (#3448, 5/3/2008) GAManiac (63), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 29, 2008 Pours reddish copper with a short-lived off-white head. Sweet malts dominate the aroma with light grains and hops in the background. Malt dominates the taste as well with a good bit of fruit undertones, strawberries maybe. Definitely on the sweeter side of things. Highly carbonated with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. This is my first St. Arnold’s brew and I actually think it’s quite drinkable. Acknud (453), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Apr 19, 2008 Pours a dark brown. A little thin . Aroma of chocolate and some coffee. Taste is nutty with a chocolate hint to it. No bitterness.
