Commercial Description:
A true bohemian-style pilsner. Crisp and refreshing, this beer is perfect for a hot summer day. Saint Arnold Summer Pils has a delicate, sweet malt taste complemented by an abundant hop aroma and flavor. This beer is brewed with fine German malt, and a copious quantity of "noble" hops imported from the Czech Republic. Saint Arnold Summer Pils is best consumed at 36° Fahrenheit

Slightly sweet lager aroma. Pours a clear light yellow with about half a finger of white head. Light mouthfeel, nice floral and bitter notes in the flavor. Finishes with a bit of sweetness. Drinkable, if not my favorite style.

Bottle from Market Street (Allen, TX) Poured a nice clear gold color with what started out originally as a fluffy white head, which quickly dissapeared into a thin white layer, maybe my wife washed out the glass??? Aroma was slight floral notes. Flavor was very nice, malty, great use of flavor hops with a very nicely balanced bitter...I was pretty impressed. Palate was light medium body with medium-high carbonation, easy to drink.....I enjoyed this beer!

The beer pours a very clear light gold. The clarity of the beer is so perfect that I can hold the beer to the light and look up through the side of the glass and observe the fizzy white head dissipate from below. The head poured a vigorous thick white but didn’t hang out for the party as it disappeared very quickly. The beer has a very light nose; in fact it was so light that I almost got a nose full of brew as I leaned in for a better sniff. After I evacuated my nasal passages I was able to pick up on a light maltyness highlighted by sour citrus and sweet lemongrass notes. Upon first sip the carbonation of the beer dances off the tip of the tongue, the first taste is defined by a high carbonation with an underpinning of black pepper spiciness. The middle of the sip is a ghost, lacking any real flavors. As the last of the sip slides down the back of my tongue the hops show their floral little green heads. The hoppyness of the end of taste doesn’t hang around long but finishes the otherwise simple beer nicely. Overall I found this beer to be quite drinkable and refreshing.

Poured into Bob’s ’47 pint glass. Little head dissipated quickly. Light gold in color. Very light scent, I almost drank a little through the nose trying to pick up something...lol. A little bitter for a summer brew. Very easy drinking. A bit tart aftertaste somehow. Could be a great beer for late summer nights outside.

Pours a golden color with a bubbly body and an almost non existant head. Nose is some what corn like, with grass, and a bit of DMS. No skunky bitterness from noble hops which is nice. Actually a pretty good pils, Nice mouthfeel and a decent finish. Very refreshing.

Pours with a largish, foamy white head covering a clear, hay colored body. Suprisingly good retention and lacing. Aroma is fruity and citrusy (grapefruit) with some hay. Slightly bitter, but mostly bland taste. Watery mouthfeel.

(Tap @ Brewery): Pours an amber pale color, little head, white. Very malty sweet aroma, grainy domestic beery. That same malty, gariny taste.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of lb4lb. Clear yellow with a medium white head of rather short duration. Aroma of hay, bread, and light floral hops. No skunkiness or other aromas suggestive of oxidation, so this one seems to be pretty fresh. This has a nice light to medium body without wateriness, which seems to be a characteristic in lesser examples of this style. Lively, but not excessive carbonation, and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is a little on the sweet side, and this extends throughout the finish. I like to see a little more bitterness in a Pils, but this still has a pretty clean and refreshing finish. All in all, this is a nice Pils, very drinkable, and worth getting if you can get it fresh.
