3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma of roasted meat, yes meat. Roasted malts with hints of chocolate and coffee. Pours a dark rich brown with a mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste is initially like the nose - roasty. Some coffee notes present in the middle with a grainy finish and aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, while not watery, I would have liked a little more body to be present. Stil,l this is an enjoyable Texas beer to look forward to each winter.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear black, slightly brownish around the edges, with a thin light khaki head. Delightful nose of chocolate, coffee, creaminess, and subtle roastiness. Flavor is equally incredible with creamy chocolatiness, a keen coffee tone, a slight bit of molasses and roastiness. Sweet and creamy but a little roasty and very full and well rounded.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Fruity soda like nose? Root beer? Slightly coying mid palate. 4th beer of the night. Not very exciting.

More than palatable little stout - not exactly a style to drink much of in Houston though!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I have always enjoyed this beer during the short time it is out. The unfortunate part about it is it always seems to give me heartburn. I have no idea why. It is on the lighter side as far as stouts go. Always nice to have around during Christmas.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Solid little stout from this Houston brewery. better than average taste, a nice "go to" stout if you’re looking for something heavier than normal.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice dark bitter taste. Not as heavy as some stouts, but a very good beer to round out the evening.

3.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Trade from Jamil. The strong points of this winter stout was the palate, a thick creaminess, and the taste’s finish, bitter earthiness. The low point by far was the aroma, which was nonexistent. I tried several times in several manners to pick up some type of scent, but his thing was like the Preditor - nothing. Finally, I picked up a faint whiff of coffee/bitter.
Overall, the appearance was pleasing, especially the nice film left by the head, and the taste was a nice complex mix of nuts, earthiness, and bitters.
