A creamy, full bodied sweet stout with a subtle chocolate and coffee flavors and a well balanced soft roastiness. Saint Arnold Winter Stout is loosely filtered to preserve a rich mouthfeel which is particularly satisfying during the colder months. Saint Arnold Winter Stout is best consumed at 45° Fahrenheit.

Draught. Pours a near black color with a small off-white head. Nose is a subtle little roasty, but still subtle. Not a huge amount of smell to it. Taste is much the same. It’s a decent stout, but nothing I’d actively seek out.

This bottled brew from the brewery poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark black colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The nice aroma was sweet and dark malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of mild hops and dark malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Dark. Lots of toasted malt. Slight chocolate and coffee. Finish has toffee and caramel. Good stout by a good brewer.

Cask. Aroma is of sweet and dark malt. Appearance is black with a creamy light tan head. The taste starts sweet and turns into a dark dry flavor. Not very complex. The palate is dry and leaves a weird film in the mouth. Overall, an ok beer. Many better stouts out there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from a BA trader - thanks! Brown cola colored pour with a thin slick of tan foam. Aroma is light chocolate, roast, minimal coffee, and some hop bitterness. Taste is light chocolate and roast with a molasses-type sweetness and some hop bitterness. Light mouthfeel. Drinks more like a light porter than a stout but nothing really offensive about it.

Dark brown pour with medium tan head. A little bit of lacing. Roasty, chocolaty aroma. Similar flavors although coffee also comes through fairly classic stout flavors. ---Rated via iPhone

From the "really, I haven’t already rated this?" file. Dark and sweet with an almost delicate roastiness.

Dark brown color with light brown foam head, lacing to glass. Pitty it was served too cold. Aroma is coffee, with some nut tones. Taste is bitter coffee and nice velvet feeling. Somewhat short aftertaste. (Houston 201301)

Aroma of roasted meat, yes meat. Roasted malts with hints of chocolate and coffee. Pours a dark rich brown with a mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste is initially like the nose - roasty. Some coffee notes present in the middle with a grainy finish and aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, while not watery, I would have liked a little more body to be present. Stil,l this is an enjoyable Texas beer to look forward to each winter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
