12 oz. bottle: Pours deep mahogany brown with a bubbly off-white head. Tastes of sweet, toasted malts and dried apple. Did not get any coffee from this. Highly carbonated for a stout, with a curious nutty finish. This tasted more like a brown ale to me.

12 oz bottle courtesy of zinister. Pours a dark brown color with red highlights. The head is tan, big and clumpy; and fades slowly. The aroma is rich with molasses and some coffee. The flavor is a moderate in strength with chocolate and mocha notes. The mouthfeel is full smooth and creamy. The finish is long with anise. Overall: A very drinkable stout--thanks zin, so far I have been very impressed with all the saint arnold stuff.

Bottle courtesy of theisti. Pours a clear dark brown with garnet highlights and a thin, creamy, light tan head that diminishes quickly. The nose is of fresh baked chocolate cake backed by faint coffee and cream; subtle but quite nice. Light to medium-bodied and slick with a dry, roasted finish. Dark roasted, chocolaty malt with notes of coffee, lactose, and light ash at the finish. Hops only play a bittering role at the end. I’m surprised to see this rated so lowly. I found it to be a solid, drinkable and fairly tasty brew. Thanks again for the bottle, Tim!

Pours a rich dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted maltwith just a hint of milk chocolate as well as some dough. Flavor is very sweet, carmel and a nice roasted coffee element. Thin mouthfeel. Long bitter chocolate finish.

Courtesy hopscotch. Pours dark brown, with a small, swirly light brown head. Smells very fruity, alot of molasses, some chocolate, and dark sweet malts. The taste has more roast in it than the nose. A little bit of a creamy texture on the palate, is followed by some sweet chocolate flavors and dark fruits. Pretty balanced and plenty flavorful. Just a simple little stout, but perhaps underrated in my opinion. I enjoyed it.

12oz bottle. thanks lb4lb for this. pours dark reddish brown with creamy beige head. nose is slightly roasty with bakers chocolate. flavors have the same with some dark fruit. not a good example of a stout as it seems on the border of a porter or even brown ale.

Bottle... Black ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is a touch metallic, but also wafts interesting notes of chocolate, blackberries and blueberries. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Well-balanced flavor, but bland. There are suggestions of oxidation, but inoffensive overall. Finishes bittersweet and vinous.
