| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Dark brownish/black beer with pretty decent head. I can observe that the body appears a bit watery. Very nice aroma! Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee with subtle vanilla. Has an "oak aged" aroma. Wow, the flavor doesn’t exist and the body is pathetic with no bitterness. You know a stout is bad when it just leaves a bad malt taste without delivering any bitterness. Too bad, it looked and smelled yummy... travita (1970), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Eh. Just doesn’t do it for me. The body is too thin for a stout IMO. Watery and kinda boring. Pulled a little bit chocolate and coffee flavors from this one. Slightly carbonated and dry. Didn’t expect much from it, and I got what I expected. Pastor (534), Maine, USA

Bottle poured into a tulip produces a good finger worth of tan head (drops off to a nice lace) on top of a ruby red to black body
Aromas of roasted malts coffee and some dark fruit
Flavors of coffee and dark chocolate a little bitter finish
Great mouthfeel nice carbonation for a stout
An easy beer to drink, and a good stout and tasty too
