3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma of roasted meat, yes meat. Roasted malts with hints of chocolate and coffee. Pours a dark rich brown with a mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste is initially like the nose - roasty. Some coffee notes present in the middle with a grainy finish and aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, while not watery, I would have liked a little more body to be present. Stil,l this is an enjoyable Texas beer to look forward to each winter.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours clear ruby hazel, pretty not dark for a stout. Small fizzy tan head that dissipates quickly leaving some lacing. At least its a pretty color. Aroma is roasty, cocoa, some spices. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, toffee, roast and a bit of spice. Light acidity, some dark bready notes. Light body for style. Meh

12 oz bottle from a friend, thanks Nims! Pretty much black with a tan head, mostly dissipating, minimal lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, light coffee and chocolate. Similar flavor, medium sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body with a creamy feel and soft carbonation. Not bad.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Roasted malt. Toast. A little sweetness. Pours a little thin. Dark with a tan head that disappears pretty quick. Really light bodied. REALLY light. In what universe are we calling this a winter stout. It's not bad. A little sweetness. Some toast. Dry finish.

D&Q Beer Mart, H-Town 12oz: Pours Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is vague chocolate with some roasty malts. Taste is slightly sweet and slightly chocolatey. Not really much to it and not really that complex. Plenty drinkable though.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
No head, weak palate, bittersweet without any discernible flavors. Way too light to be what it says it is. This is what you would expect from a stout made in Texas, or any other hot weather climate for that matter. Pass.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep, dark brown, no head. Nose is dark roasted malt. Bittersweet. Middle is coco & molasses. Finish snaps dry, and rolls out slightly bitter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Unknown brew/bottle date.
A: Pours dark brown with cherry candy highlight thru the light. single finger loose latte head dissipates quickly and leaves a thin sheet of the same. No lacing.
S: coffee, cocoa, prunes, fig, graham malts. Hints of resiny hops and what smells like over steeped simcoes. Nice creamy smell here as well.
T: Coffee porter is what this tastes like, not stout. Nonetheless, good, malty, roasty profile with dark cocoa nibs, raisins. Good beer.
M: medium body with medium/high carb.
O: Well done, not great, but above average. If I were in Houston, and this was on tap, I would likely drink again.

On tap at the Railroad Seafood Station Brewing Company.
Not quite black pour, off-white head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. It was a little lighter than most stouts, but otherwise very typical flavor.
All in all, just average.
