341 ml bottle. 1/3 of it exploded straight over my sink as I opened it. Starts well... Pours a clear, red-orange dark amber with a nice, resilient beige head. Smell is fruity, red cherry. Taste is burnt caramel, overripe cherry (felt quite artificial...). Finish is burnt, ash, roast. Bitterness feels unbalanced, I perceive it as way too strong, here. Some tartness, too. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Weak carbonation. Not a very good scotch ale, actually, I kept asking myself as I was drinking it "why did they label it as a scotch ale?". At least, it was not so costly...

Pours hazy light brown. Some particles. Aroma: fruits and slight caramel. Kind of subtle. Taste is vinegar, sour and unbalanced. Roasted finish. Not a good beer.

Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle [341ml] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours ruby-brown with a large semi-lasting fluffy off-white head. Mild aroma of caramel malt, light cherry notes and cardboard. Flavour is...not good. Eesh, what is that? Metal, artificial cherry, caramel malt and light rye -- I think, it’s just not good. Only positive thing is the alcohol is completely hidden. Light bodied. Simpy awful.

Thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: Murky cloudy, red, tiny brown head. Aroma: Wet cardboard and cherry, malt, biscuit. Flavour: Dirty cheap synthetic Kenyan cherry cough syrup with nail polish and a hint of vomit. Wow. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

341ml bottle shared with blankboy and garthicus. Deep clear red with an average frothy/creamy lasting tan head. Aroma of cherry, paper and ... medicine. Taste - sour malt and light cherry cough syrup. Thick body, harsh aftertaste. Not good.

Pours brown, somewhat murky. Close to no head at all. Aroma is mainly cherries with faint nose of caramel. That one has a dusty nose as well. Taste is.. yuck, seriously. The rye don’t give it a very good twist and it pretty much ends up being some kind of ethylic vineagar aromatized with sour cherries. Oddy, it just feels... watery. I’ve tasted belgian ales closer ot scotch ales than this scotch ale. Unpleasant, awful. Trying not to drain pour it.

Bouteille 341 ml. 9%. Couleur brune-rougeâtre assez foncée. Mousse blanche-beige, presque absente.

(Rating #4064)
