Bouteille 341ml. (2005)

Originally rated August 2005. Pours an amber-orange colour with a tanned creamy-foam head. Retention is pretty good and lacing is small, but apparent. Can smell caramel malt with hints of fruits. Thin mouthfeel. The taste is very different. Find some roasted malt, some herbs, some bread and some hop. Hard to describe. Not really my cup of tea.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JulienHuxley (1708) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 3, 2012
Bottle. Appearance: Amber pour with red highlights, nice brown head and decent lacing. Aroma: Nice roastiness and nutty malts. Hops were less interesting with vegetables and herbs notes. Flavor was mostly roasted malts, unfortunately it was slightly astringent which seem to be common with their offerings. Palate: Low-med carbonation and light bodied. Went down easy.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 UM02 (268) - Quebec, CANADA - SEP 13, 2011
The rousse style in Quebec is generally an easy drinking slightly roasted dark ale. As such, it is rarely going to produce great beers. I would say this is one of the better examples of this style. Easy drinking but also with some a decent amount of smoky malt taste.

This one has a better colour and carbonation aspect to it. High fruit cake aroma, roasty/toasty note, spice box and funk. Medium bodied, but one of the more enjoyable of their beers. roasty, chacoal but boring other than that...and thin.

341ml bottle. Brown/red pour with a tan head that doesn’t last at all. Nose of half-roasted malt and faint dry dog food with the vaguest hint of green hops. Uncomplicated on the palate with the same semi-roasted quality, maybe a touch of smoke. Finishes pretty flat with a medicinal tinge, some metallic character too.
2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 cleverlobo (296) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 29, 2011
Bottle; dark red to brown with sediment and a thick beige head; aroma-chocolate, coffee, dried fruits; taste-disappointing, watered down, light sweetness and bitterness, heavy carbonation. Aroma is great, taste is bad.

(Rating #3277)
