Papsoe (10498), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 22, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Sweetish chemicalic and phenolic aroma. Medium body, some fruit and caramel. Sourish and slightly astringent finish. Not completely fresh! 030608 yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 7, 2008 33 cL bottle, from Beermania. Pour hazy orange with a lacing white head. Spiced with a vague mouldy aroma. Flavour is spiced and somewhat off. Somewhat spiced, bitter and somewhat off citric. Ends with a strange mouldy and citric mixed flavour. sayravai (3186), Helsinki, Finland May 23, 2008 (Bottled, 7,5% ABV, aged sample from BeerMania, thanks TBone!) Very hazy brown-amber with a small, but firm and very lasting, lacy head. Aroma has sweetish, dried fruit, some oud bruin -like tartness, and port-wineous hints. Sourish-malty flavor with dried fruit, lots of anise, burned sugar (still pretty dry overall). Medium body with medium carbonation. The age certainly shows, but I wouldn’t say this is past its prime. At least the flavor was quite pleasant with some similarity to De Dolle and Regenboog brews. Beautiful lacing, too. Hazy amber-brown color, small white head. Yeast, dark, overriped fruits in not so pleasant nose (propably aged yeast is doing it). Liquerish palate. Acidic, citrusy fruits, licorice, anise. Interesting, ageing has clearly done some effect here, but beer is still drinkable. oh6gdx (6342), Vaasa, Finland May 14, 2008 Bottled. Hazy nutbrown/orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruityness, some yeast and spices. Also sweet maltyness. Flavour is fruity, toffeeish, wooden, earthy and some more sour fruits are also lurking in the background.
