Serving: from tap at Brouwer’s Cafe. Aroma: light, pine hop. Appearance: average-sized, creamy, off-white, initial head with excellent lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, dark-yellow body. Taste: moderate-to-heavily sour initial flavor and moderate-to-heavily sour, rhubarb finish with long duration. Palate: medium body with syrupy texture and soft carbonation Overall: beautiful beer with unique taste.

33cl fliptop, Cave à bulles, Paris 02/2014 - bb05/2015. Pours a milky green-yellow with dissipating dirty dishwater foam. Acidic, goosberry and indeed young rhubarb nose. Taste is a bit of a slippery parcours: beginning acidic, pale malty, like an older, tired lambic, through a bitter Zwickl-yeasty middle, blending over into a green hop, quite resinous finish. Not quite an IPA by any standards, more of a dryhopped fruit beer/sour experiment, but drinkable. Conundrum: Tastes just as unpredictable as you’d imagine a Franco-Norwegian collaboration would taste...

Bottle. Clear dark golden body, white head. Aroma of spicy yeast esters, citrus fruits, honey. Taste of white sugar, flowery hops, pine. Light bitterness, with notes of yeast in aftertaste. A good beer, but I’m not sure what I think of the sweet elements here.

A light yellow beer with a big and white head. The nose of fruits, some sourness, citrusfruits and rhubarbs. Taste of fruits, some spices, medium sourness, some rhubarbs. Medium bodied, high carbonation, slightly harsh. Interesting beer with rhubarb that can be clearly noticed and it’s quite OK. Otherwise the beer is not very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom L. Clear pale yellow with a soapy white head. Funky sour fruits aroma with a bit of soapiness and vinegar. Sourish fruity flavor with funk, light spice and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Refreshing but not much IPA character except for the bitterness. And probably not supposed to be so funky and sour.

33 cl. swing-top sampled @ La Capsule. BBF 14/05/2015. Quite an ugly label but it did catch my eye for which I am glad for this one seems like a really interesting one & I love Nøgne Ø. Pours a pale citrus with a small but solid white head. Nose is faintly sweet strawberry & touch rhubarb, mix between real fruit & chewing gum plus citus + white grape juicy hops not bad. Taste is a bit weak sadly, mellow sweet bubblegum strawberry, light white grape & berries hops, white sugar sweet, touch juicy, lemon, light grass in the back, very minor. Body is light, close to but not watery. Fun beer but misses some intensity, needs more fruit.

Flaske fra cafe sara Lys kobber uklar. Hvit skumrand.. lite/medium karbonert. Smaker malt, rabarbra, sitrus, gjær. En litt tam ipa kanskje litt fruktigere og mindre bitter enn forventet. ganske bra

Nose is acidic, with subtle rhubarb, slight cellar and straw notes more in keeping with a saison than an IPA - it really called to mind Duvel. Taste is not particularly rhubarb, more of a general fruit and berries notes leading to some citrus and tart notes. There was very little hop notes and a short tacky finish. Mouthfeel crisp and fizzy. A strange beer that was not an IPA for me. Looking at the reviews there seems to be very different experiences and I wonder if there is consistency issues.

33cl bottle at Amundsen. Hazy yellow colour with a very small white head. Aroma is a blend of rhubarb, hops, dust and grass. Faint hints of yeast. Flavour is moderately bitter. Mostly hops, rhubarb and grass but some yeast and bread. Some sourness. Medium long, lingering aftertaste.
