bright gold, wispy topped white head, ring. Nose is bright pineapple and orange, light seed and root. Fruit flesh flavor, lights of orange and melon rind, but of candy sweetness in the end. Quite unique, but I liked how everything came together.

Had on cask in Paris. Perhaps it was Paris, perhaps the ambience of the bar. This was a great beer but I lost my scribbled recollections.

An odd one to be sure. Tangy vegetal and tart rhubarb with sweet apple and honey. Yeast dry finish with touch of tartness.

A solid base of decent light blond beer with the fruity sourness of rhubarb flavour blending in subtly. It is not something like such abberations as the Lime by the otherwise respectable Jever brewery. However, it is also not brewed like a Kriek or other Belgian fruitbeers which have fruit added during the brewing process. If I understood the French brewmaster correctly, they use blended rhubarb juice because the organic rhubarb they use does not have the same taste from one season to the other. As I said, it still is quite a bit better than just a beer with added fruitjuice. Tastewise it is a nice alternative to Belgian Witbier, and goes well with dishes you would otherwise drink white wine to.

Bottle with swingtop 0,75ltr: Golden coloured beer with an very smooth mellow sweet taste. And the back label says an ingredient they used: rhubarb juice. So something new for my palate of taste.

bottle from Village de la Bière Strasbourg. Cloudy amber-red colour, large white head. Aroma of rhubarb, but neither sweet nor sour. Malty, yeasty, slightly spicy with hints of rhubarb. The rhubarb flavours are integrated very well, neither too sweet nor sour, only in the background. Interesting beer.
