750ml bottle (Alko, Helsinki) Shared with Mirjukka - thanks!
Very sweet aroma, fruity and a kttle cakey. Rich red, small head. Spicey, and a little bit cakey. Soft carbonation. Smooth sweet cakey palate. This hs aged moe than adequately, but it’s still too sweet and sticky. Not unpleasant, but just too sloppy and brash.

750mL fliptop courtesy of ryan. Poured a clear orange to amber with a small, white head leaving small, spotty lace. Nose is apple cider, non-oxidized red apples, overripe pear. Taste is all malty, soft, rich oatmeal malty with clover honey and very moderate spice. Chewy, starchy palate. Soft carbonation. Pretty much a textbook example of perfect malt extraction.

Purchased from Carrefour in Steenvorde (petrol stop) and split with Leighton and Bruce in J98 LLY en route to Kortrijk. Lightly hazed dark amber with a big frothy biege head that retains well. Nose is toffee, yeast, clove, banana, spice. Taste comprises yeasts, toffee, light spice, brown sugars, touch of booze, hint of smoke. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, some bitterness in the finish. Ok stuff.

3fourths (7979) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 17, 2012
bottle-conditioned 750ml. lightly-hazed chestnut brown body with a medium-sized sandy head. fruitcake nose of nuts / nut oils, wood, berries / jam / maraschino cherries / fruit / melanoidin malt. soft texture dark baked cracker malt with lightly musty / tart yeast. a slightly-dark sweet, woody, nutty, fruity, estery winter beer that I would peg for Belgian.

2009-12-05. Hazy red-brown body, modest beige head fades. 3+ Aroma is lightly fruity, dry malt, light yeast. Flavour is odd, light fruit, dry malt, malty base, odd tang in the finish. 6+ Okay. Bottle shared by swoopjones

Bottle that I picked up at Carrefour, Citi Europe, Calais, 31-10-09 consumed 04-12-09 Pours clear amber with very thin white head. Initially this a little sweet in the mouth with the alcohol very evident and whilst warming its maybe a touch harsh. Some spiciness, bit of fruit seeped in alcohol, touch of caramel another fairly average beer to end a slightly disappointing beer week. A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Pours a deep copper amber with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet toasty caramel malty nose with some light holiday spice and light fruity notes. Starts with some light toasty caramel sweetness and a touch light fruits and clove before a slightly drier and earthy finish. A pretty true to style and complex biere de garde.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Chris O’s Night of the Gaylords.
Dirty yellow brown with a thin off white head. Nothing special really. Very yeasty and sugary sweet with a bit of bread and cinnamon. Spicy finish. Blah.
