2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at La Fine Mousse, Paris. Reddish brown pour with a bubbly broken head. The aroma is malty with yeasty notes. The flavour is bitter with fruity notes on the palate. A rather drinkable ale but the range of flavours and the smoothness and warmth that one might expect in this kind of ale is sadly missing.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, 0.75l. Clear amber - hazy with yeast - with a small, partly lasting head. Very mild aroma of caramely malt, berries, nuts, cinnamon, and some other spices. Caramely-malty flavor with yeast and lots of Belgian-style fruitiness. Spices are present, but not as dominant as in the aroma. Medium body with quite a lot of carbonation for this brewery. Something between Leffe and Jacobsen Golden Naked, which equals roughly something ok, but nothing very interesting.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle split with Anndiesel. Unfiltered burgundy brown. I really enjoy the subtle, delicate malt nuances of a French Bierre de Garde, and it is always a pleasure to try another. This one leans into Belgian Christmas Ale/WInter Warmer territory, with luscious amber malt tones, and some candied fruitcake flavors. Overall displays a great balance. A touch of bitter balancing bitterness up front leads toasty, clean malt finish, touches of raisin and cherry. Right on, a great Christmas beer.
