Bottle at Amagerbro Ølfest. Low fluffy off-white lasting head. Very dark brown body. Sweet smooth and creamy roasted malt caramel coffee aroma and flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long sweeet finish. Would never have guessed the alcohol percantage.

Bottle... Pours hazy and brown with ruby highlights and a small, creamy, taupe head. Good retention. The aroma features dates and some herbal, rooty notes - sassafras. Full-bodied and oily with tingly carbonation. The flavor offers toasty malts and sweet dark-dried fruits - dates and raisins. Lengthy, sweet, toasty finish.

Bottle from Carrefour Supermarket, Calais, France. This very dark brown beer has a red fruit and chocolate flavour, spicy vinous notes, followed by vanilla and liquorice on the creamy fruity finish.

Tastes like a blegian brown...yeaty, malty , roasty, with heavy carbonation and a touch of rustic barnyar to it. Liked it but didn’t love it. Solid brew."

Bottle @ DØE Øllets Dag 2014, Kolding. Pours slightly hazy dark copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of roast, hops and metal, with hints of malt and yeast. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with heavy notes of roast and hops, and touches of nuts and metal. Bitter aftertaste. Okay but would be better without the metallic element.

9,11,10,11,9,11 - 10,55

Awesome coffee, chocolate and toffee in this one but it’s so well blended it takes on a new character all its own. The yeast and hops add some perfume on the nose, and you’ve downed the whole thing before you know it. Highly recommended for Brown Ale lovers, as that’s really what this is. Abbey Dubbel is quite a stretch.

Sampled at VANØ annual meeting 2014. Clear, deep amber body with a small tan head. Aroma is slightly roasted caramel’ish malt and some dry fruit with an impression of dust or maybe lacquer. Flavor is medium sweet, toast, toffee, slightly hint of dry fruit, moderate bitterness and some of the same impression from aroma of dusty cellar or lacquer. Medium body and moderate in aftertaste. OK drinkable, but nothing really impressive going on.
