Aroma of decent malt malt and some wheat? cloudy apricot, tiny white head. Taste of the malt starts the show, with a creamy, honey quality too. Light bodied, sweet, fine throat burn here. Very good offering.
esox (113), Oulu, Finland Aug 21, 2008 0,75 l bottle. Hazy orange beer. The head is creamy with some bigger bubbles, white in colour and long lasting. Yeast particles in the liquid. Aroma has spiciness, sour apples, raisins, vinegar and a hint of alcohol. The finish has malty caramel and sour apples. Flavor is sweet&sour. Alcohol is clearly present in the finish. Medium bodied, a bit foaming and fizzy palate. Some alcohol burning. janir (178), Oulu, Finland Aug 2, 2008 Hazy orange color with medium, light beige, cremy and lacy very heterogenic head. Very fresh aroma is fruity(apples) and grassy. Sweet flavor is fruity, raisiny, spicy with alcohol notes. Also some grass in the aftertaste. Medium-bodied and low carbonated palate. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 3, 2008 Objectively speaking:
A soft and fruity Bière de garde that lacks the cleanliness from their Blonde.
I like:
Toasty malt introduction rapidly veers towards juicy red apples, dried figs – kinda juicy and unclean with a earthy/fruit seed bitterness from early oxidation. Leafy finish.
I dislike:
This was tasted at Le Mondial 2008 festival, yet it felt as if it were not as fresh as possible. Radek Kliber (3332), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 2, 2008 Bottle at Mondial 2008
Appearance: Light amber with medium creamy ring.3-. Nose caramel , amber malt , alcohol on side and brown unrefined sugars. Flavor/Palate : Medium-full bodied , sweet with caramel hints with bitter feel around. Decent ale.
