(Rating #1725)

Bottle at Mondial 2008
Appearance: Golden-amber with bright medium top.
Nose Soft grainy feel , wheat like softness with estery notes. Neat. 7+
Flavor/Palate : Soft bodied with surprisingly rich character. Cherry , bubble gum , grains and hops with gentle earthy thing. Very drinkable, yummy stuff.

My Bottom Line:
This amenable Bière de Garde proposes honeyed biscuits and herbal, peppery hops in a refreshing show of balance and quaffability.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the clear dark golden.
-The body is quite round for its size, but it’s never too sweet, which is appreciated.
-The finish is rather subtle; I would have preferred a slightly firmer hop grip.
-This is very easy to drink and it is quite hard to say it’s near 7% abv.

Bottle.

Bière #9 au Mondial 08 (28/5/08), bouteille. Blonde brumeuse, petit collet. Arome de malte légèrement épicé, un peu d’agrume. Goût d’agrume épicé, malte doux et peu amère. Une autre bonne petit bire française au Mondial 08!

Cloudy orange-brown, head white and dense. Sour apple smell, reminiscent of cider. Flavour is fruity, a little sweet, with sour apples and mild hoppiness. A very interesting beer.

Hazy orange color. Head is white and bautifully lacy. Aroma is sour, apple-like, tart, flowery hoppy and slightly citric with some berries. Sour but still some kind of sweet apple-like, fruity and yeasty flavor is also spicy. Aftertaste is dry and slightly bitter with flowery hoppyness. Medium-bodied, smoothly carbonated palate is slightly alcoholic.

Bottled and shared with FatPhil. Green apple aroma. Clear orange/red, no/very small head. Doesn’t taste much, dry, hoppy, average finish.

Strongly apple-like aroma, spicey and grassy. Sweet floury and flowery taste, also with a resiny hoppiness - drying. Long perfumy hoppy finish.
