Cloudy yellow, light white head. Very yeasty and fruity on the nose with some caramel and floral hops. Flavor is very nice. Sweet, tart and lightly bitter on the finish. Good yeasty notes and some nice light fruit. Good stuff.

Bottle @ home. Cloudy, yellow-orange appearance with a bubbly white head. Lemon-tangerine citrusy, fairly spicy yeasty, sweet malty, a touch bready aroma. Tangy, a touch tart, lemon-orange citrusy, belgian yeasty, sweet, light malty flavor.

750mL flip top at Shenandoah Throwdown. The pour is a hazy golden with a healthy off-white head. Nose is fresh yellow apple, cinnamon pie, sweet cherry pie. Taste is very malt forward as expected with cinnamon apple oatmeal, huge honey malt, brown sugar, and wheat bread. Very good.

bottle-conditioned 750ml. first shed rating of the winter. hazed gold body with a white head. both sweet smelling and more estery than the Printemps, less grassy and more fruit jelly / honey-like. the sugar suggests higher alcohol and thicker mouthfeel and it delivers the same. tropical and banana-like yeast, very Belgian-like, so I would probably say it was abbey tripel if blinded, though it seems a little more chunky, pasty and muddy like hefeweizen can be. thick finish of oily spice, sweet bread and simple syrup with banana / pear / tropical ester touches. delicate carbonation, bright flavors and light acidity / tartness play nice together, but it’s a little too sweet for my tastes.

750ml bottle from Vinmonopolet, shared with Finn Arvid. Initial huge, white head to a pale golden body. Fine display of lacework. Smell of fruity wheat. Rather complex flavour where light caramel malts can be spotted together with spiced fruits and wheat. Smooth bitter ending. Medium bodied. Refreshing in the evening sun (Tromsø, 28.05.2010).

Slight gushing to huge, very dense white head, over chromate yellow beer, lively carbonated. Grassy, herbal at first, CO² and malt-determined nose, pretty fresh-smelling. In the taste however, oxydized malts and cookies, as "Petit Beurre" dominate, the hops being conspiciously absent. Flavourprofile gets a bit earthy, after a while. MF is also very influenced by the heavy carbonation; quite slick. Average at best. Thanks to fonefan!

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head and a murky, dirty dishwater colored body. Aroma of apple, candi sugar, wheat and dry grain. Taste is lightly tart with fruity notes and candi sugar. Watery mouthfeel and light bubbles.

bottle from Village de la Bière. Hazy golden colour, large white head. Fruity nose. Fruity, malty, pleasantly dry hop profile.

My Bottom Line:
This amenable Bière de Garde proposes honeyed biscuits and herbal, peppery hops in a refreshing show of balance and quaffability.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the clear dark golden.
-The body is quite round for its size, but it’s never too sweet, which is appreciated.
-The finish is rather subtle; I would have preferred a slightly firmer hop grip.
-This is very easy to drink and it is quite hard to say it’s near 7% abv.

Bottle.

2008-06-01. Hazy golden yellow, small off-white head. (3+) Interesting aroma, yeasty, light fruit and caramel, pale malt. (6+) Similarly yeasty flavour, pleasant sweet caramel and pale malt. Average palate is pleasantly smooth. Simple quaffable brew. Bottle, Mondial, Montreal, Thanks DuctTape
