750mL flip top at Shenandoah Throwdown. The pour is a hazy golden with a healthy off-white head. Nose is fresh yellow apple, cinnamon pie, sweet cherry pie. Taste is very malt forward as expected with cinnamon apple oatmeal, huge honey malt, brown sugar, and wheat bread. Very good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Carrefour, Citi Europe, Calais, France consumed 15.01.11 Pours gold with reasonable clarity and a with a white head. Big on maltiness, fruity but a fairly non-descript beer otherwise, I’ve had this whole bottle to myself (750 ml) and whilst it was absolutely fine it was also totally unremarkable to the point that I took precious few details down. 3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had this during the 2011 Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Fruity and musky, toast and sweetness. Prune and fruit leather. Musky toast. Tangy old fruit and oxidization. Lingering sweetness on the finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slight gushing to huge, very dense white head, over chromate yellow beer, lively carbonated. Grassy, herbal at first, CO² and malt-determined nose, pretty fresh-smelling. In the taste however, oxydized malts and cookies, as "Petit Beurre" dominate, the hops being conspiciously absent. Flavourprofile gets a bit earthy, after a while. MF is also very influenced by the heavy carbonation; quite slick. Average at best. Thanks to fonefan!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
This amenable Bière de Garde proposes honeyed biscuits and herbal, peppery hops in a refreshing show of balance and quaffability.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the clear dark golden.
-The body is quite round for its size, but it’s never too sweet, which is appreciated.
-The finish is rather subtle; I would have preferred a slightly firmer hop grip.
-This is very easy to drink and it is quite hard to say it’s near 7% abv.
