Previously marketed as "Abbaye de St Landelin Ambree"
SAINT LANDELIN amber is a full-bodied beer brewed with lightly roasted malts. It owes the “amber” name to its caramel flavor.

Thank you Mathieu87 & PriorL! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Mathieu’s house cooling party”. BBF 24.09.14. Dark red amber, little head. Nose is big rotting character, overripe fruit, strongly chemical, pretty bad. Taste is chemical, watery, apple, bitter, thin cardboard, oxidation, dusty. Thin oxidized body, lightly herbal. Not good, presumably due to a mix of bad quality & age, age has done a pretty big number on this beer so its original character is nearly impossible to judge.

Red amber body and medium head. Biere de garde yeast, very iconic even. Toasty malts, sweet red berries, herbal hops, caramel. Medium sweet, light toasty taste. Drinking well despite very active carbonation. My biggest gripe is that it’s too clean and boring for its own good. Smell is nice but lacks mostly thereafter.(75cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Bottle pours a hazy amber color with a huge off-white head that retains well and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and toasted malts with some light fruits and herbal hops. Taste is caramel malty and light fruity sweetness with some toasted notes and a moderate hoppy bitter finish. Medium bodied and highly carbonated. A nice representation of the style.

18/II/2012 on tap @ Au Vieux de la Vieille (Lille) - BB: n/a (2012-141)
Clear reddish amber beer, creamy white head, adhesive with nice lacing, unstable. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, bubble gum, suary, peach candy. MF: low carbon, light to medium body. Taste: malty, grains, some toast, little sour, nice bitter hops. Aftertaste: fruity and bitter hops. Surprised about the low rating.
