Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

750 ml bottle. Cork broke. Pours bright gold with no head. Nose of a bit stale hops, spices, a bit of funkiness. Tastes of spices, old hops (??), a bit of malt background and a bit sweet. Not the freshest beer (got in a trade). 8% alcohol is well hidden and never really surfaces. Need to share this bottle instead of drinking it alone. Good try-I like my strong ales a bit dryer-this was a bit chewy and cloying though.

Poured a hazy brown color with a large, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, tropical fruits, light citrus, nuts, and light wood. Taste was equally fruity, pears, plums, apricot, light caramel, nuts, and a bit of alcohol in the finish.

Bottle (75 cl), thanks to marsiblursi. Clear amber with a medium off-white head. Tropical fruits, especially tangerine and oranges, in the aroma. Spicy and sugary as well. Medium bodied and smooth. Too sweet.

(Bottle, thanks Degarth) Pours copper amber red. The aroma is light spicy, light malty and light fruity with apples, ripe pears, juicy oranges, melon, ginger, mild caramel, cookie, bread and sugar. Undertones of chlorine/swimming pool and alcohol. The flavour is malty, light fruity, light yeasty and light spicy with tones of dough, bread, oranges, apples and pears. Medium sweet, light bitter, light acidic and tart. The mouthfeel is a bit syrupy and watery. Aftertaste is sourish with some citric notes. Medium bodied.

This is from a green bottle, so I may have to re-rate. Cloudy orange, not much head. Very yeasty, fruity aroma, with stoeny and herbal notes. Some bubblegum and banana, too. Smooth, melow carbonation. Flavor doesn’t really measure up to the aroma - Sweet, and a lot of alcohol, considering its only 8%. Crisp and peppery toward the finish. A lot of yeasty flavor through to the end.
