Nose of a bit stale hops, spices, a bit of funkiness. Tastes of spices, old hops (??), a bit of malt background and a bit sweet. Not the freshest beer (got in a trade). 8% alcohol is well hidden and never really surfaces. Need to share this bottle instead of drinking it alone. Good try-I like my strong ales a bit dryer-this was a bit chewy and cloying though. hopdog (5630), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2008 This is from a green bottle, so I may have to re-rate. Cloudy orange, not much head. Very yeasty, fruity aroma, with stoeny and herbal notes. Some bubblegum and banana, too. Smooth, melow carbonation. Flavor doesn’t really measure up to the aroma - Sweet, and a lot of alcohol, considering its only 8%. Crisp and peppery toward the finish. A lot of yeasty flavor through to the end.
