3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle from SoLan. Lots of sweet fruit on the aroma: crushed green grapes, apples, pear must. Caramel and gingerbread. Pours muddy orange with a thin white head leaving spotty lacing. Caramel apple is what instantly hits my tongue. A hint of spice followed by a necessary dry yeast flavor. Creamy. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Quite a bit better than the Saison.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured a light amber color no head or lacing. Aroma was peppery and grapes/pears. Flavor was much the same some other fruit in there. Mouthfeel was flat big time. This bottle wasn’t good, not sure if it was a bad bottle.

750, thanks to Ibrew2or3! Pours lightly hazy copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma of nuts and oxidized apples. Light body and medium carbonation. The taste has a character not unlike apple cider. Semi-dry finish. Nice!

750, corked like a beast. Thanks so much, Ibrew2or3! Medium amber with butterscotch highlights. Modest white film, no lace. Huge green apple nose. Medium, slightly creamy body carrying a ton of tight carb. Beautiful green apple and butterscotch mid-palate. Clean toasty finish.

Looks like I liked this more than most. The bottle is from Capone’s. The pour is turbid medium coppery with off-white head. Aroma of funky yeast, candi sugary malt, fruit, and some peppery notes. Tastes fruity, with some cherry and peachy notes, fig, candi sugar, and funky spicy yeasty notes. Pretty rich, with notable complexity of palate, I’d buy this one again any day of the week.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from DragonStout. Pour was light amber, flat looking, no head, zero lacing. The aroma was light fruits, some pepper. The flavor was light fruits (peaches), musty wooden character, very light pepper in the finish. The mouthfeel was dead flat (and the cork was a super challenge to get out, jammed in there hard), need more carbonation, any amount of it. Thanks for the opportunity on this one, Brian.

Thanks to crizay (I think) for opening this halfway through the afternoon. It was suprising to discover that this was from Florida; I would not have imagined something like this coming from that region. While it was not a fabulous Belgian I think it was solid for someone just starting out. If the brewer can build on this they will have a loyal following in the near future.
Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy light brown body was about halfway down the scale of darkness. Yeast, white bread, pineapples and pears formed the nose with the fruitiness being the strongest aspect. A hint of funky barnyard nestled in the background.
Flavor / Palate - The body was suprisingly rich. Orange peels, vanilla and peach opened with pineapples completing a delayed experience. Overall I was kind of indifferent until I learned this was one of the first commercial attempts from the brewer. That’s no going to affect my scoring but it does mean I may keep an eye on this company in the future.
