COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

Bottle on the train to Brussels for Paulís Pre-Wedding Boys n Beers Weekend of Fun. This beer pours a cloudy, ruby-brown with a small, white head. Thereís some definite ripe and slightly tangy fruit in the aroma. Also some raisins and caramel. The flavor is very sweet, with lots of caramel, bread, dry fruit, leather, toast and ripe citrus. Full in body with fine carbonation. Warm finish with leathery ripe fruits, light earthy bitterness and toasty malts. There is certainly some apparent age on this beer (Iíve had it for two+ years) but itís very nice with some interesting character.

Poured from a corked n caged 750ml. Now I know why they cage them. Once I removed the cage, the cork slowly worked its way out and then fired at the ceiling. I thought I put a dent in the drywall but I didnít. CAREFUL!!!! Plenty of fizz white head that disappears into absolutely nothing, leaving no lacing. Mouthfeel is dreadful. Just fizz and water; tastes like over-carbonated seltzer. Aroma, however, is awesome! Light raspberries, booze and lemon, yum! Taste is kinda murky, just like the brown color. Mainly water, vinegar, light raspberries, dirt, funk and dented drywall. The rest of the bottle is a drain pour. Meh, this wasnít very good even at $8 a bottle.

Caramel brown....big, fluffy head. Aroma is funky....and fruity. The flavor is dark fruit followed by a nice sour bite. Great mouthfeel.....crisp, but full. My only complaint is the alcohol presence. A few years in a cellar would be nice.

cork says 2010 bought early 2011: amber orange pour with tan head that dissipates quickly with lots of bubbles still. light haze. aromas of apples, cinnamon, cherry cough drops and raspberries. still lots of bubbles and carbonation but not much head. cherry apple cranberry taste, not what i was expecting or remember last time i tried this. very effervescent with lots of medicinal cherry flavor. the beer almost disappears in your mouth with all the carbonation, it would like it more if it was more tart or funky. no hop character and not much spice. This beer might be a bit past its prime and not as good as i remember, I shouldnít have waited too long to drink the bottle. some of the flavors remind me more of a quad than a saison. Iíll have to try this again with a fresh batch.

An olí brew had at Brewfest 11í. The body had a nice yellow hue to it - murky as well. I liked this one more than the Athene. Lots of dried citrus in this one, some light herbs and grapefruit mainly. The finish was light and tart, and a hint of alcohol to mellow the senses..

Pours a beautiful chestnut color with a small loose head that fizzes away like cola.

The aroma is rich and fruity with lots of cherry, plum, some dustiness, with mild spiciness and very mild chocolate.

The flavor is very enjoyable, fruity, mildly sweet, spicy, and has a mild cherry note. The beer has a big booziness, Iíd have guessed this a bit higher gravity than it is, as it is itís warming and not wholly unpleasant. A little bit of cough syrup, some woodiness, and a good bit of raisin round this one out.
