COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty aroma with hints of toffee. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy yeasty finish.

cork says 2010 bought early 2011: amber orange pour with tan head that dissipates quickly with lots of bubbles still. light haze. aromas of apples, cinnamon, cherry cough drops and raspberries. still lots of bubbles and carbonation but not much head. cherry apple cranberry taste, not what i was expecting or remember last time i tried this. very effervescent with lots of medicinal cherry flavor. the beer almost disappears in your mouth with all the carbonation, it would like it more if it was more tart or funky. no hop character and not much spice. This beer might be a bit past its prime and not as good as i remember, I shouldn’t have waited too long to drink the bottle. some of the flavors remind me more of a quad than a saison. I’ll have to try this again with a fresh batch.

Tap at Churchkey for the Craft Brewers Conference. Poured a clear amber color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma smells like wet socks. Not a fan - flavor was marginally better, some funk notes herbal notes, yeast. Not a huge fan of this particular one.

Pours dark cloudy brown with fast fading fizzy white head. Very woody tasting. Aromatic hints of apple like a cider.

Cloudy orange unsettled look. Small head and no lacing. Smells like fingernail polish. Doesn’t taste as bad, but wouldn’t try it again.

Bottle from DragonStout. Pour was light amber, flat looking, no head, zero lacing. The aroma was light fruits, some pepper. The flavor was light fruits (peaches), musty wooden character, very light pepper in the finish. The mouthfeel was dead flat (and the cork was a super challenge to get out, jammed in there hard), need more carbonation, any amount of it. Thanks for the opportunity on this one, Brian.

Bottle shared by artusory. Hazy copper/fiery orange body, medium off-white to buff head. Light tart, fruity nose, again with the plastic, band-aid notes I picked up in the Saison Athene. Sweet, sugary body with a light earthy finish, tainted by plasticy phenols. The sweetness is rather flabby. I had a hard time getting past the phenols, and couldn’t enjoy this much.

(Bottle, thanks Degarth) Pours copper amber red. The aroma is light spicy, light malty and light fruity with apples, ripe pears, juicy oranges, melon, ginger, mild caramel, cookie, bread and sugar. Undertones of chlorine/swimming pool and alcohol. The flavour is malty, light fruity, light yeasty and light spicy with tones of dough, bread, oranges, apples and pears. Medium sweet, light bitter, light acidic and tart. The mouthfeel is a bit syrupy and watery. Aftertaste is sourish with some citric notes. Medium bodied.
