3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
750 ml bottle purchased at Total Wine, Tampa. Amber borderline brown color. Aroma is huge hibiscus flowers, candied sugar, and some toasted grain. Body is a tad thin on this one. The hibiscus is mostly all I’m getting here. Almost a old lady’s perfume flavor. Pretty high level of carbonation, not really my style saison, if you call this that style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Will P in trade. Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange, little to no off white head. Aroma citrusy, with a hibiscus and a grainy yeast character as well. Body lively and a little dry, with a nice orange peel dry bitterness to the finish. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York. Hazy orange-brown in colour with a very quick to dissipate white head, no lacing. The aroma is very red wine like, musty and yeasty, alcohol, lots of grape in this. The flavour is very wine like, tart and acidic, fruity, lots of grapes. Acidic mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, tart and warming. Like a spicy red wine saison. Very weird but this seemed to grow on me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from San Roque in Santa Barbara.
Finally, escape from LA. Brown pour, intense foamy light-brown head that explodes and then curiously dissipates entirely in under a minute. Yeasts drive the aroma, brown sugar, heavy on whatever it is that emanates from the Duchess that keeps me from unreservedly loving that beer. Sweet tart flavor, brown sugar, almost a light Flemish red sort of thing going on, super-yeasty, definitely interesting but sweeter than I’d think ideal. Pretty much what one would expect of a Saint Somewhere belgian ale; definitely not a saison. Quite an interesting beer and well worth trying but not a full-on success.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared at the GTMW line, pours a murky brownish red with an off white head, the aroma is of prunes and dark fruit with a yeasty touch, flavor is much of the same, decent amount of dark fruit with a yeasty finish, kind of strange though and it doesn’t come together.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slightly cloudy orange brown. Nose is spicy, rustic, some fruit, odd petrol. Taste follows. Muddled as some others have said is a good word for this. Passable.
