The aroma is sweet and funky with pine and slightly toasted. The appearance is brown and hazy. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall an average beer.

the main problem, is that too funky. the flavor is a bit dusty with some funky sourness. the beer is highly carbonated with a major yeast component. for the real beer drinker.

Very dark brown with a fluffy resilient beige head. Aroma of bubblegum, roast, cola, and dank citrus. Taste is yeasty and roasty and a touch sour. Medium-full bodied, slightly fizzy. Not bad.

Thick and vinegary smell kind of like a sour ale. Slight roast and white wine flavor, flowery, slight vinegar, a little flat but a nice fairly unique flavor non the less. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of rye malt, some dark spices, mild farmhouse notes, and herbally bready notes. Flavour is fairly acetic, with a chemical quality, rye bready, some balsamic vinegar, metallic notes, and loads of weird musty notes - very bizarre. Black saisons are usually a big miss for me, and this is one of the poorer attempts Iíve had. Not good at all - havenít been impressed by this brewery at all.

Bottle poured into glass. Black saisons are just too weird for me. Aroma is funky but the flavor is just too all over to place. Couldnít enjoy this one at all.

Bottle from Total Wine, Naples. The pourís a deep brown with a small off white head. The nose is red berry, general chemical, acetic, light balsamic vinegar. The taste is mild balsamic vinegar, roasted malts. Soupy yeast. Light body, soft carbonation. Not great.

Pours black with tan head. Slightly funky aroma with some roasted malts and nail polish remover that seems to be in most fresh bottles I try from this brewery the past couple of years. Simillar flavors. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. Iíll get another bottle and revisit it in a year.

Floback (524) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Pours black with a thumbnail of tan head. Aroma of rotten plum, subtle roasty coffee, and sour yeast. The flavor exudes more dark fruits and subtle toffee. Very astringent, almost like isopropyl alcohol, especially in the finish. There's also an underlying over-ripe fruit tone similar to the aroma. Soft carbonation & medium/full body. Not bad, despite the sort-of-odd bite in the taste, but definitely my least favorite from this brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

on tap-lt tan-hazy brown. A-floral/grassy, med malt. T-grassy hops, yeasty, 2nd med malt-roasty. Interesting. Med body. Lots of effervescence.
