Acetone, effervescence, and earthiness. Two of those things are fine. Acetone in the aroma and in the taste. An unpleasant offering from a fine brewer. Perhaps a bad batch? Who knows. Won’t be trying this again.

2013 bottle pours coca-cola hues with an active head that settles as disappears fast. Light roasted malt, light sour and tart. Light body.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2015 Bottle: 2012 cork. Black pour, slight dark brown around the edges. Quickly forming, chunky khaki foam with good retention. Creamy lacing. Aroma is very funky. Loaded with Brett. Tons of old, musty cotton, damp driftmood, mildew, cobweb, barnyard floor, wet hay. Wow. Hint of dark, roasted malt & a touch of black cherry. Taste is even more of a Brett bomb than the aroma. HUGE notes of damp & musty cotton, old moldy cellar floor, musk, & old hay. Slight hints of astringent cherry skin, maybe pineapple. Not really tart, but very moderately fruity. Dark malt is very faint, but lingers in the background. Super dry finish. Cotton-mouth dryness. Finishes like an old cotton blanket. Perhaps the brettanomyces have taken this one over a bit too much. Super lofty, effervescent mouth feel.

Interesting complexity for sure. More funky than a typical saison. Deep cola brown in color with thin off white head. Some roasted malts in flavor. Some lemon and must in flavor.

750 c&c from Wine & Cheese. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is a bit winey/woody. A dry astringent grape aroma. Med + body. Flavor is winey/grapey with something suggesting a soap, some wood, definitely some earth. There’s some dark maltiness, and some tartness. To me this is something out of a red wine barrel, tho apparently it has never seen wood. Finishing dry, earthy/woody, red berry fruity, and something herbal? The back of the bottle exclaims mysterious. Got that right. I’m really liking the contrasting, mixed flavors.

Aroma - Limes, acrid malt Appearance - Very dark brown, big tan head that subsides quickly. Taste - Earthy, lightly acetic, roasty, lime-lactic sour, wet leaves, seriously. Palate - Creamy at first, but very dry in the finish. Pretty wild. Overall - I can’t believe how low the score is. This is really interesting. I’m a fan.

Dark amber pour. Aroma was cherry, funky, leather, apple. The taste was more bready and roasted malts, but still not very saison like. Very dry feel. Interesting.

@ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Clear dark mahogany with a big, long-lasting frothy head, fluffy strands of lace. Taste is totally sour ale in a dark package, almost to the point of being a gose. When I read "Farmhouse Ale" on the bottle, I wasn’t prepared for more than a straw or light golden color, and the brisk sweet lemon grass and wheat that goes with it. This isn’t it. Not bad in its own right, but it required an attitude adjustment, after which I felt it was a decent brew. Drink at your own risk.

From a bottle poured a dark amber color with a fair amount of head. Spicy malty flavor with a quick finish.
