Bottle courtesy of BeerandBlues2, thank you sir! Hazy dark brown color, thick brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of coffee grounds. Taste starts with riasty coffee and cocoa, then a barnyard funkiness that doesn’t quite mesh. Near miss, I would say.

Almost black pour with a khaki head. Peppery and roasty nose. Some hints of vinegar, lots of anise, grass, and grape. Quite dry, maybe a little tea. Nice aroma. The flavor is a little less impressive. Very roasty and acetic. Grape soda, pepper, black tea, and lots of grass. Fairly dry and very highly carbonated.

Bottle. Poured a hazy dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good to excellent lacing. Moderate dark herbal and yeast aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectation where met.

Lubiere (10461) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 7, 2013
A hazed dark brown saison with a thick collapsing mocha head. In aroma, very herbaceous and grassy malt with bitter chocolate, light Brett, dirt, interesting. In mouth, a nice fruity sour chocolate with light lactic points, Brett, foliage, off but in a nice way.

Bottle at Max’s Taphouse. Pours clear black with a medium, creamy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is spicy wheat and rye malt with dates and figs, Belgian yeast spices and pepper notes. Flavor is malt forward with medium hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters, spices and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

hopscotch (9553) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Bottle… Pours a cloudy burnt-caramel with a mid-sized, off-white head. The nose is malty and fruity. Medium-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor is tangy and roasty with a subtle cherry component. A bit bland overall. Finishes lightly bitter and fruity. Overall, a touch mundane. Nothing wrong. Technically great. Just falls short in flavor and body. Bob is a great brewer, but his stuff is too subtle for me. Not a bad thing. I’m into all things “extreme.” Saint Somewhere is the brewery for you if you’re into “almost.”

750mL shared at Grape and Grain Exchange in San Marco, Jax, FL. Pours a muddy, deep cola with weaker heavier foam. Nose is all vinegar and pickle. Heavily salty and acetic. Taste is very minty, extremely herbal, cocoa, and quite medicinal. Dirty, earthy lemon tea palate. I was forced to drink 3 persons’ glasses since no one enjoyed this. Oh well.
