Bottle. Cloudy light brown, smooth off-white head. Aroma toffee, dried apricots. Quite full-bodied with a distinctly oily toffee taste. Bitter hoppy palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Very good, stable, white head. In aroma mostly malts, sweet and alcohol notes. In taste is thick, with alcocholic bitterness.

A lovely Belgian take on the barkey wine. Oddly smoky for the genre, but otherwise its all here, the toffee, sweet, plumbs, terrific caramels and strong ABV on the nose.

375ml bottle labeled Barley Wine, but 10% ABV. Pours a dirty, hazy brownish orange with a small, large-bubbled, off-white head. Aroma is pear, peach, apricot, some caramel, marzipan. Taste is a lot of the same. Sweet and cloying. Pear, apricot and peach rule along with caramel and marzipan. A yeasty mess. Some dried fruit. Full with quite a bit of carbonation. Ugh...

Brown bodied, small head. Aromatic heavy malts, light acidity, cheesy yeast, powerful concentrated appeal. Delicious rich warming body with fair amount of carbonation. However the warming alcohol and full, thick body balances this carbonation out very well. This is really my kind of brew. Indulging, delicious, perfect example of the style. (375ml bottle from Saveur Bière)
