UPDATED: APR 1, 2013 Tap at Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Pours dark, black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Has a dark roast aroma with some burnt sugar and definite citrus poking through. Nice flavor if slightly thin. Lightly sweet with some roast, light plastic, burnt cocoa, and some burnt citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Burnt roast malt finish, with some wood, scorched earth, cocoa, mild citrus and grass. Pretty solid. (3.6)

Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London. Pours dark brown with a fine, tan cream head. Moderate roast in the nose, some burnt toast. Light sweet flavor with dry and toasty bread, hints of cocoa. Light in body with average carbonation. Somewhat dry to finish with more cocoa and earthy bitterness. Kind of bland this time around. (3.1)

At my home with wim. Black colored beer with large diminishing off-white head and no carbonation visible. Malty roasted coffee aroma. Full slightly sparkling palate. Finish is roasted coffee like ending a bit bitter.

Creamy Beige head, black body. Hop aroma, piney and citrus, is stronger than the roasted malt, chocolate profile. A bit all over the place.

Een van de slechtste bieren, zoniet het slechtste bier, dat ik ooit geproefd heb. Absoluut mijn smaak niet.

Appearance: near black, with a creamy chocolate milk-colored head. Aroma: light pine and dark chocolate. Taste: bitter dark chocolate, resin, light citrus, and almost overwhelming chalk. Finish: extremely dry, almost talc-like; slightly metallic, and a bit roasty. Notes: Not exactly my cup of stout. Overly dry and overly light; not much chocolate or roast character, likely from a too-conservative malt bill. On draft at Birch and Barley, DC.

Houblonnage discret mais délicat, donnant un bel équilibre avec le malt torréfié, donc une bière bien structurée!

Dark pour nearly black color, light brown huge rocky head. Big roasty, light chocolate, malty, grainy aroma. Very roasty, astringent though, spicy notes - almost peppery/vegetal, watery mouthfeel, dry finish. This is a mess.
