Ottima luppolatura. Finale secco

Pitch-black, opaque, roasted malt- chocolate bitter, uncompromising imperial stout, extremely smooth and velvety, with absolutely no hints of alcohol at 9% and no residual cloying sweetness. Took me 2 attempts to get into this one’s slow blossoming taste variety but the 2nd 75cl bottle (bought at the brewer’s MiOrge MiHoublon in Arlon) had me hooked for the rest of the evening/night. World-class, not for beginners.

25 cl. draft @ Delirium Tap House: dark brown with a tanned head & nice lacing – smells sweet with syrup, chocolate, dark fruits & hops, tastes very syrupy with chocolate sauce mixed with dark fruits upfront (lots & lots of plums as well as some prunes & touch of dark grapes), aftertaste is strong almost like cognac-like but only slightly alcoholic but also sweet with chocolate, spices, slight ash, sweet/bitter syrup aftertaste – B: slick, oily, syrupy – great Belgian stout worth getting if you can

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

(750ml bottle bb Oct 2011 thanks to bu11zeye) opaque ruddy orange-brown with thick creamy tan bubbles. Nose of brown sugar, mossy, cherry. Taste is peppery, light smoke, moss, peat, brown sugar, caramel and maple. Creamy body, lightly bitter finish. Really nice!!

Countbeer (4709) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - APR 25, 2012
Bottle: Dark brown to black pour, a black body with a nice medium tan to light brown head which changes slowly into a closed and vast lacing. Looks good! The aromas are almost imperial stout like: liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, rum, tar and coffee roast The flavour is coffee, dark roast and burned rubber at first, than it changes minimally into a fine mix of dark chocolate, coffee/espresso, roasted/burned barleys malts, roasted/burned wood, dark chocolate drenched hops/herbs. There’s an overall good growing bitterness in this beer which results in a long bitter roasted almost burned aftertaste with a touch of dryness. Low carbo, full body, watery to a light creamy mouthfeel and a light watery texture. Really good beer; lot of roast, bitterness and a fine body.

The beer poured a dense black body with a nearly 1 inch head, nice tan head, fluffy, and gives way to thick lacing on the edge of the glass. The nose was chocolatey, malty along with a slightly floral nose. Taste has strong notes of bakers chocolate, sweet but with a hop presence as well. There is also a peppery touch on the tongue. All in all a smooth and creamy taste, fully body.

Courtesy of SHIG. Pours hazy opaque amber with copper hues and tan head. The aroma is earthy, spicy, roast and pine mixing together with mild grapefruit and black tea. The taste is similar with a pleasing mix of roasted malts, earthiness and malts to go along with a tasty hop bill like pine and citrus. Yum!

Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Dark brown with small gold head. Aroma is roasty malt, dark chocolate, bit of smoke and spice, creamy vanilla, and coffee. Taste is creamy vanilla, bit of berries, plum, lots of malt. Bit of boozy liqueur taste too. Thick and creamy texture. Pretty nice.
