Cloudy orange-brown (looks dirty) with a small white head. Nose is spicy and medicinal. Taste is dominated by an unusual flavour that I’m not used to, supposedly it is an aromatic plant called the woodruff. I can only describe these aromatic flavours as mint, spices, medicine, lilac. All that floating on top of a rather malty and caramelized body. Like having sex with a really dumb cheerleader, this is good stuff as long as you don’t have it too often.

Bottle. Cloudy orange, big creamy eggshell head. Sunbaked clay, peaches and fresh herbs. Light yet chewy body. Fruity base, bready, sweet - the woodruff shines through now and then. Hides strength very well - drinkable like soda. Bready aftertaste.

Bottled. Amber color with weak head. Sweet and fruity aroma with notes of melon and plum. Sweet herb liquer like flavor with licorice, plum and raisins. Sweet and spicy finish. Very sweet but still a pleasant dessert beer. To my mind a saison should be dry and refreshing. This is just the opposite.

Deep golden in color, crystal clear before the yeast dumpo,cloudy/hazy after with a small white head. Aroma is yeasty, oranges and spice. Flavor is Spicy, with a note of warming alcohol, creramy mouthfeel, a big saison.

Bottle. Nice typically peppery saison, with some citrusy, orange rind bitterness. Lightly cheesy, lightly vinous, with some peachy, apricoty fruit aswell. A very pleasant saison

Bottled. Hazy nut brown colour, small off white head. Aroma of barnyard, some alcohol, hops and yeast. Flavour is alcohol, sweet fruity malts, hops and some notes of yeast. Not that much barnyard in flavour in this one.

mabjork (652) - Vasa, FINLAND - FEB 25, 2006
Bottled. Hazy golden in colour. The aroma is Barnyardish, lightly hoppy. The flavour is sweet some toffee and sugar. Some honey and caramel, too sweet for me thou.

Kåstå (1202) - Mol, BELGIUM - FEB 1, 2006
Dark blond cloudy beer with a small head. The aroma is of bread, caramel, malt and hop while the taste is floral-fruity-candy-bitter in an odd earthy way. Initially I thought this was really a good beer but now at the end of 33cl it is just a bit too much. Still it is an ok beer.
