UPDATED: MAY 22, 2011 cap and cork 750ml bottle from Binny’s. Copper color with white, ample head. A bit cloudy - I drank it as soon as I got it home. Acidic, spicy flavor with some hints of wood. Tasted like a wine cellar smells. I thought the hop bitterness was just right for the style. The yeast was a bit on the barnyard side, but I like that in a farm house ale. Different in so many ways to DuPont. This one has character. May 2011 update. Recently I purchased two bottles of this saison about 3 weeks apart at Binny’s in Chicago. Unfortunately, both bottles were TOTALLY lacking in carbonation. I am letting my previous rating remain, although this is an almost inexcusable flaw for a brewery.

green old bottle .. .dust, yeast, and pharmacy .. . light feel and a squeaky finish, the 2002 vintage shows quite a bit .. . . a scone is just a really sad doughnut.

A 2002(!) bottling. Perhaps past its prime but certainly held up very well. Rich complex aroma and flavor with figs, raisins and spices. The flavors are nicely balanced and blended.

Bottle - Vintage 2002 - Orange, light acetone and peach. Cloudy orange with a light white head. Tart stone fruit with a sour funky finish. Nice for its age.

Bottle during RBWG, pours a cloudy orange with medium white head. The aroma is apple cider and spice. Thin mouthfeel with strong citrus, apple, light sourness, good.

Bottle. 1995 vintage. Moldy looking under cap and cork. Poured a golden color with an averaged sized head. All I can say, is this one aged nicely and ’different’. Nice tart sourness ... fruity, apples, and citrus.

33cl bottle from MOMH. Gusher despite being well chilled... Bright orange, huge white head. Aroma of pineapple, orange, pepper, ginger. High carbonation. Orange/lemon squash, lightly sweet, slightly tart, big black pepper, ginger heat, prickly spice on the tongue in the finish. Good

Beautiful brown colour, off-white foamy head. Green apples, ginger, spicy yeast, light but sweet malts, champagne-like tones. Nicely lingering finish. High carbonation but soft mouthfeel, good but light body. Really an one of a kind ale.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2014 01/11/2014 : 75 cl bottle from Malts Attack @ home. Rusty colour with small white head. Nose is spicy, herbal. Taste especially spices (orange peel, pepper, ...) , little sweetness, little sourness. One of the strangest brews I ever had, however, liked it.
